The purpose of our page is to help reunite pets with their owners and to educate the public about our role in the community, our policies, and general pet ownership. We recognize the fact that animals evoke deep emotions in many people, as they do us, but must ask that our posters refrain from judging others/posting negative comments when both sides of the situation are not known. In many

cases, we will not comment on the situations regarding particular animals. We are bound by confidentiality, laws, and our own ethics, in which we do not judge (as we often don’t have all the facts, especially with lost pets) and cannot dictate how an owner cares for their animals. If you have a particular concern or question that requires immediate attention, we ask that you contact the shelter directly at (608) 325-9600 or visit our website at www.greencountyhumane.org. Our Facebook site is monitored by volunteers and, oftentimes, we cannot respond immediately.

Libra is an older gentleman who is about 8 years old. As many of you know, the shelter is a loud and busy environment. He is pretty scared in here, but is the sweetest guy.

He needs a foster to adopt home. 💚🏠 GCHS covers all costs and needs, you provide the love and welcoming environment!

Don’t forget while you are out tonight trick or treating to stop out at GCHS. We have candy bags ready for the kids, treat bags ready for the pups, a photo area and you may even see our new dinosaur we have up for adoption 🥰🐾

💚🐾 Pawsitive Update! 🐕🥳

Who remembers Roxy (aka Juda Girl) who came to us and went straight to the emergency vet not too long ago?

Roxy is an older gal with an old fracture to one of her legs who was severely dehydrated. We originally sought a foster family for her and ended up finding her a forever home! 💚

She ended up having 17 teeth pulled, but overall is happy and healthy with her family. We can’t express how happy it makes us that deserving animals like Roxy can go home to a family who loves them unconditionally. 🐾🥰

Did you know GCHS will take your aluminum cans?! 🐾

We have a designated bin and trailer just for our donated aluminum cans! These cans are turned in for funds that are put towards our dogs and cats. You can also set up an account with Behr Recycling and let them know you want to donate the funds to us!

This is a simple way to recycle, and donate to GCHS! 💚♻

We had a blast at the Kuhn North America Wellness Works Fair yesterday! 🐾🥳

Cinnamon and Nutmeg stole the show and a few cuddles while we were there. We can’t wait to come back next year! 💚

Bringing home a new pet is a big decision that effects the entire household. We always recommend bringing the animal home for a 24-72 hour period to see if the animal is a good fit. This way the animal can see their new home, new animal siblings, and possible human siblings! 🐱🐶

National Dog Day called for a field trip to Pleasant View Nursing Home for a couple of our pups yesterday. The joy our animals can bring to others’ lives is amazing! 💚🐾 #greencountyhumanesociety
