Dr. Sonia Borrell was born and raised in Miami, FL. She graduated from the University of Miami and attended St. Matthews University School of Veterinary Medicine as part of the charter class. She was then accepted to the clinical year program at NC State School of Veterinary Medicine. She started practicing medicine in 2010 and now lives in Monroe, NC, with her husband and son.

Dr. Borrell’s interests include Exotic Animals and Geriatric medicine. She is completely fluent in Spanish. Dr. Borrell is an avid crafter and reader. She loves spending time with her family. She has two cats, Baci and Captain Meow as well as a dog, Raven.
