OWHL Scottish Folds & Cornish Rex

I do keep a wait list.. and unlike so many of the Back yard breeders.. I don’t and never have required a deposit just for a chance at a baby. I’ve never understood why you would pay a deposit just for a “chance” at a kitten. I want a family that wants one of my babies because they understand the quality they’re getting, appreciate all the work I’ve put into them and have decided an Owhl kitten is what they want for their family...not because they’re “trapped” into it. Beware of breeders who demand money before babies are even born. There is no guarantee that a litter will have folds/straights...a particular s*x, how many will be born or that they will all make it. Things, sadly, can and do happen. I never take a deposit until you have chosen your kitten and I don’t allow that until the babies are a minimum of 7 weeks. If you’re waiting on a fold, it takes a month (NOT up to 8 weeks like some byb’s say) to know if a kitten will fold or not. By 7 weeks... I know not only ears, but more importantly Purrsonality. Lets face it... you want a baby that’s going to fit in with your family... one that suits your needs for energy, for attention needed, etc. Since I spend so much time with my kittens I can usually tell fairly quickly whether a kitten is confident, shy, in your face, playful, a snuggler... all those things that really matter. I also know quality, whether your possible new baby is pet quality, show, etc. I often sell show kittens as pets, some of the families choose to try their hands at it... and I’m happy to mentor them, some just want a quality kitten. Me... I just want loving homes for my little ones. I am here for the lifetime of your baby. Many of the families who get kittens from me become good friends.. coming back for a second, third or more kittens thru the years. I’ve done this so long, I now have children who grew up with an Owhl kitten now coming to me for babies for their own families.

I have spent my life, devoted to the breeds I love. I am on the breed committees for them, have been Breed Chair, and actually helped to write the breed standard for the Fold in Tica many many years ago. You’ll never hear me talk about how these are boutique or designer kitties.. these are loved living breathing babies. I have fought to preserve the breed, helping to get Straights accepted into TICA (I had the first Supreme Grand Champion Alter and Regional winning Alter... as well as the first Regional Winning Kitten) and to make sure that Back yard breeders won’t be able to legitimately use the breeds I love to create “designer” breeds. Beware of those who are mixing them with other breeds... they are not doing it for the love of the animal but to have something “new” they can charge a premium price for. NO legit organization accepts “breeds” like Kilts (munchkin x fold mix) or Puppy cats (Fold x munchin x pixbob) People doing these horrible breedings don’t care about the health of the kittens they’re producing and are lying when they say that there’s “no problems” Even experienced, reputable breeders who are doing everything “right” have the occasional kitten with OCD issues... and to think that you can combine structural mutations and NOT have issues is irresponsible and horrible for both the babies and the families that will pay the price.
