Meet Daisy! This sweet 8-month-old mixed Lab weighs about 48 pounds and is full of energy and love. She’s spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, and housebroken. Daisy is friendly with both people and other dogs and loves spending time outdoors—she enjoys exploring, especially in a fenced yard. Although she had a rough start in life, she’s been thriving in her foster home, where they’ve been working on her manners and seeing great progress!

Daisy is looking for a loving family who can continue to help her grow and give her the care she deserves. Ticks can be a major concern during the fall season when leaves begin to fall. Here are some tips for keeping your home and family safe:

🍁 Keep your lawn mowed short to reduce tick habitat.
🍂 Wear long sleeves and pants when spending time outdoors.
🍁 Use insect repellent on skin and clothing.
🍂 Check yourself, your children, and your pets for ticks after spending time outside.
🍁 Remove any ticks you find promptly and correctly to reduce the risk of disease transmission.

Ticks can carry diseases that can be harmful to both humans and pets, so it's important to check thoroughly. Here are some tips to help you check for ticks:

Inspect your clothing and gear for any ticks that may have attached themselves.
Check your entire body, paying special attention to areas such as your armpits, groin, scalp, and behind your ears.
Use a mirror or ask someone for help to check hard-to-see areas.
Check your furry friend's fur, especially in areas like their ears, neck, and underbelly.
Use a tick removal tool to safely remove any ticks you find, making sure to get the entire tick, including the head.
Wash your hands and any tools used to remove ticks thoroughly after you're done.
Remember, early detection and removal of ticks can help prevent the spread of tick-borne diseases.
