🌟 Meet Martin, the purrfect boy looking for his forever home! 🐾💕

This handsome fellow was found outside as a stray (no microchip, and sadly, no one came looking for him). But now, Martin is ready to leave his past behind and snuggle into a loving home! 🏡

At about a year old, Martin is as sweet as pie 🥧 and has a heart full of love to share. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and negative for FIV, FeLV, and heartworms. He gets along great with other cats and even dogs! 🐱🐶

Could you be the one to make his holiday dreams come true? 🎄🎁 If you or someone you know is looking for a lovable, snuggly companion, give us a call at 845-395-9200. Let’s find Martin the forever family he deserves! 🩷

The holidays are a time for joy, filled with gifts, delicious treats, and spending time with loved ones—including your pets! 🐾🎄

As you celebrate the season, it’s important to remember that many holiday favorites can pose a danger to your furry friends. Keep an eye on your pet’s safety as you deck the halls and prepare for the festivities.

Here are some common holiday pet health hazards to watch out for:

🎅 Chocolate Toxicity: With all the seasonal sweets around, pets are at a higher risk of ingesting chocolate, raisins, and other toxic treats. Did you know nearly 20% of chocolate toxicity claims happen in December?

🎁 Ingestion of Foreign Objects: Curious pets may swallow tree ornaments, tinsel, ribbons, gift wrap, or garlands, which can lead to serious health issues.

🌿 Plant Poisoning: Popular holiday plants like amaryllis, mistletoe, holly berries, and pine needles can be toxic to pets, so keep them out of reach.

🍷 Alcohol Toxicity: Leftover cups of festive drinks can be tempting for pets, leading to accidental alcohol poisoning and emergency vet visits.

🕯️ Burns & Electric Shock: Open candle flames and chewing on strings or light cords can cause burns or even electric shock injuries.

Stay vigilant, and make sure your pets stay safe and healthy this holiday season. If you ever have concerns or need advice, we're here to help! 🐾💙

🐾🐶 Say Cheese! Why Veterinary Dental Cleanings Are a MUST 🦷✨

Check out this before and after of this adorable bulldog’s dental cleaning! 😍 Can you spot the difference? That hair splinter and tartar buildup were no match for a professional cleaning — and now he’s got a sparkling smile! ✨

Just like us, our furry friends need dental care too! Here's why regular cleanings are a game-changer:

🦷 Tartar Be Gone!: Left unchecked, tartar can cause gum disease and other serious dental problems.

😷 Bye-Bye Pain & Infection: Unhealthy teeth can lead to painful infections.

✨ A veterinary dental cleaning not only freshens that breath but also keeps your pet feeling their best for years to come. 🦷💖

Schedule your pet’s dental cleaning today and give them a healthy smile for the new year! 😺

During the winter months, it’s important to protect pets from common hazards like antifreeze, ice melts, frostbite, hypothermia, and rodent poisons.

⛔ Antifreeze is toxic and can cause kidney damage if ingested.
💠Ice melts can harm paws and cause neurological symptoms if eaten.
❄ Frostbite and hypothermia can damage tissues, so keep pets indoors or dressed warmly.
🐱 Outdoor cats may seek warmth under car hoods—always check before starting your engine.
☠ Rodent poisons can be fatal, so store them in protective stations.

Also, keep candles 🕯 out of reach, and be cautious of poinsettias, which can cause mild stomach upset if ingested. Medications 💊 (even over-the-counter) can be toxic—if your pet ingests any, contact your vet or the Pet Poison Helpline at 855-764-7661 immediately. Stay vigilant to keep your pets safe this winter!

🎄🐾 Help Us Give the Gift of Life This Holiday Season 🐾🎄

Introducing our Hearts & Paws Critical Care Fund—a special emergency medical fund designed to help pets in crisis receive life-saving treatment when they need it most. 🏥

This holiday season, you can make a difference by donating to our fund to help cover the cost of surgeries, emergency care, and treatments for pets in need. Your generosity can ensure that pets in our community, especially those in financial hardship, get the care they deserve.

Here’s how you can help:
✨ Donate directly to the fund and provide life-saving treatments for pets in urgent need.
✨ Sponsor a pet’s care—your contribution can help cover a specific emergency medical cost.

🎁 Together, we can make sure no pet is left without care this holiday season. Whether it's a critical surgery, emergency treatment, or a life-saving procedure, every dollar counts. This fund is not just for the holiday season, but we will be continuing it year-round to ensure pets always have access to the care they need.

💖 How to donate:
• Visit us at The Pets I Love Veterinary Hospital, 200 Spring Street, Monroe, NY, 10950 to make a contribution in person or over the phone (845-395-9200)

Let’s spread love, hope, and health to pets who need it most. Together, we can create a community where all pets have a chance at a happy, healthy holiday season. 🌟🐶🐱

Holiday Tree Tips for Cat Owners 🎄🐾

The holiday season is here, and that means it’s time to decorate with festive Christmas trees! But if you share your home with a curious cat, your tree might become their new favorite playground. Cats are naturally drawn to shiny, sparkly decorations, so it’s important to take a few precautions to keep them—and your tree—safe.

Here are some tips for a cat-friendly Christmas:

Avoid Climbing Zones: Keep your tree away from spots like cat trees, counters, or shelves where your cat can easily jump and climb.
Cat-Safe Decorations: Wait a few days before decorating and stick to shatterproof ornaments or plush decorations. Avoid glass ornaments, sharp hooks, small decorations that could be swallowed, fake snow (which is toxic), and long ribbons or tinsel.
Cover the Water: Use a tree skirt, tin foil, or a cover to keep your cat out of the tree’s water base. Tree water can be harmful if ingested.
Food-Safe Presents: Keep food-filled gifts out of reach until it's time to unwrap, as they can be tempting for your furry friend.

With a few simple precautions, you can enjoy a festive and worry-free holiday season with your feline companion. 🎅🐱

Thanksgiving Safety Tips for Pets 🦃🐾

🍗 No Turkey Bones: Keep bones and raw turkey away from pets—small pieces can cause serious injury.

🍰 Avoid Sweets: Keep pies, cakes, and chocolate out of reach—ingredients like xylitol and chocolate are toxic to pets.

🌸 Watch Out for Flowers: Autumn crocus, chrysanthemums, and acorns can be poisonous to pets.

🐶 Manage Guests: Give your pets a quiet space away from the hustle and bustle of a full house. Make sure they’re safe from escaping when guests arrive!

Preparing for Emergencies:
Even with the best precautions, accidents can happen. The Pets I Love will be closed on Thanksgiving, so it's important to have emergency numbers on hand. In case your pet ingests something harmful, keep the contact information for the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Hotline (888-426-4435) or the Pet Poison Helpline (855-764-7661) readily available.

Have a safe and fun holiday with your pets! 🐾
