DR. LAURA PETTLER
Named one of the World’s Most Influential Women in Forensics in 2019 and awarded Most Influential Forensics Businesswoman (USA) by CEO Monthly Magazine in 2022, revered forensic criminologist and one of the world’s leading experts on staged murder, Lancaster County Coroner's Office Mounted Response Unit Deputy Coroner Commander Dr. Laura Pettler is the author of the world’s first book on solving staged murders, author of the world’s third dissertation on staged murders, and the inventor of the Kaleidoscope Shooting and Bloodstain Death Scene Laser Reconstruction System. Dr. Laura is a television executive producer and director, on-camera talent and podcaster, musician-singer-songwriter, equestrian, entrepreneur, educator, and licensed North Carolina private investigator. Dr. Laura owns and operates Laura Pettler & Associates (LPA), voted the #1 Death Investigations firm three years in a row with a 98% solve rate.
Dr. Laura was the OzTeam Forensic Criminologist for the Emmy-Winning Dr. Oz Show Seasons 8, 9, 10, and 11. Dr. Laura is part of the 2020 Emmy-Winning Cast of CSI Atlanta with Sheryl McCollum and is a volunteer for the Cold Case Investigative Research Institute. Laura appears in numerous television shows for more than a decade and you can catch her as a Guest Analyst on and in daytime and primetime shows. Laura was the co-host of Melissa Moore’s podcast Life After Happy Face that dropped July 2021. Additionally, in 2017, Laura was the Executive Producer/Host/Artist Notorious: True Crime Stories with Laura Pettler nominated for Best Director by the International Academy of WebTelevision and has appeared on numerous podcasts and True Crime television shows, such as The DNA of Murder with Paul Holes, Snapped!, Killer Motive, Secrets of the Morgue, Deadly Women, Wrong Man, Gone: The Forgotten Women of Ohio, mini-series' shows like Death at the Mansion and Lovers Lane, Crime Stories with Nancy Grace on Fox Nation, The Mel Robbins Show, Daily Mail TV, broadcast on all major networks like Oxygen, Discovery ID, Starz, Reelz, and Spike, and CourtTV.
Dr. Laura and Todd Ellis own CR Equine & Kennel LLC in Monroe, North Carolina, which serves as the home of and official Training Center of the LCCO MRU. Laura began riding at age four, worked at a breeding stock farm growing up where she and a horse named Regent became inseparable. She then trained in under Austrian Trainer Robert Mayer and his apprentices focusing on classical dressage with foremost consideration to the nature of the horse as a physical, psychological, and spiritual being using yoga to gain more insight into the instinct and psyche of the horse as a complete, natural approach to riding and training. In 1997, Laura opened Regent Equestrian in Waxhaw, teaching classical dressage, training horses, boarding horses, offering kids camps. She took up fox hunting where she and her horse Deja Noir became Honorary Staff for Mecklenburg Hounds Inc. In the early 2000s, Laura and Deja served as a member of the Union County Sheriff's Office Mounted Patrol. In 2005 Laura published a field guide entitled Crime Scene Preservation for Mounted Patrol and taught the corresponding class at Kentucky Horse Park. In 2006, Laura deployed to Louisiana as part of a instructional team who trained 60 mounted patrol horses and riders in Crime Scene Preservation for Mounted Police, horse training, and riding instruction to assist New Orleans with Mardi Gras after Hurricane Katrina.
