UPDATE‼️
FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE‼️
We had a lot of wind and storm yesterday so with that a good amount of ripe berries were knocked off. Also keep in mind this is the first Saturday open of the season so there are a lot of berries not ripe yet. So again first come, first serve. We feel like we are going to get picked off pretty early and I just don’t want anyone disappointed.

🫐 I am getting lots of messages asking if we are open this weekend so just to UPDATE everyone. The berries are not ripe yet. It COULD POSSIBLY be next weekend but don’t hold me to that. We will not know til mid week next week if they will be ready next Saturday. As soon as we decide on an opening day, Facebook will be the first to know. We are looking forward to seeing everyone and yes, we will have ice cream on opening day, YAY. 💙

🫐 Pulling blueberry bushes this morning for people to come pick up.

Alot of you have reached out to replace your bushes, after I posted about box stores selling blueberry bushes that are a variety that do not produce berries in our region. If you have purchased a blueberry bush from a store and it has pretty green leaves but NO 🫐 berries, it is more than likely a Northern Highbush, which is not the right bush for our region. You have to have a Southern Rabbit Eye.

If you would like any blueberry bushes to plant at your home. I can get those pulled for you. This is what you will need to do:

🫐 ANSWERS TO ALL THE QUESTIONS….I’m starting to receive messages asking if we are open for picking or why does our Google say temporarily closed❓There’s not many options to choose what Google can say. I wish I could say “closed until we have berries to pick but you can still text us to buy bushes” but instead I had to choose “temporarily closed”. Picking season usually starts around the forst part of June.

Facebook is the best place to come to get the most up-to-date and accurate information. The bushes are LOADED and can’t wait to see everyone.

We do have bushes to sale all year round. Also if you do have bushes at home that are not producing berries❓They are more than likely not a southern rabbit eye, which is the only variety that grows here in our region. If you would like any blueberry bushes to plant at your home. I can get those pulled for you. This is what you will need to do:

I don’t think the cold temps they are calling for is enough to do any damage, but if you are able to cover your bushes and it not be a hassle than you might as well be safe than sorry .

🫐DON’T BE FOOLED!! The majority of blueberry plants sold at Lowes, Aldis, Walmart etc are not what grows in our region. Before you buy a blueberry bush from a store you need to google what type it is. If it is a “northern high bush” it will require more chilling hours to set the fruit buds then we get in the southeast. So you will not get any berries from it. It is meant for northern states. The variety you need that grows in our region is called “southern rabbit eye”. If you want a nice, big, healthy southern rabbit eye, we have 6 different cultivars to choose from for $20 each. 🫐We are getting ready for hopefully a plentiful blueberry season. We have put some extra TLC into the bushes this month. Replaced bushes in the field, did some trimming and added lots of pineneedles. Hopefully we will not have any hard frost after they start blooming. Also this is a great time to plant blueberry bushes because of the roots being dormant. We have lots of healthy bushes for sale. 🫐 BAD NEWS ALERT- unfortunately, our blueberry farm will not be able to open this year. The warm days we had in February made the bushes start blooming then we had several hard freezes, which did lots of damage to our harvest this year. Normally these bushes in the picture would be loaded with berries but unfortunately, they are pretty bare. We are going to miss seeing you all. We hope and pray we will have an awesome harvest for you next year. 💙 We do have our potted blueberry bushes that we sale year round. They are 3 gallons and $20 each.

Luckily the bees have been busy pollinating for the last couple weeks however the freezing temperatures are coming. Hoping the damage is minimal.

If you are able, we highly recommend you cover your bushes.
