And just like that we have a dog that at least knows what her job is now! Literally 4 birds after the last video and Lady has that burst of confidence I talked about in the last video! Just keep it fun and simple!
Young dogs on first hunts suck at there job!!! That’s a fact, but if you give them time, simplify things, keep it fun, and make sure they are successful on every retrieve it doesn’t take long before a well trained dog that doesn’t have a clue what’s it’s doing turns into a machine! Lady had only picked up 1 duck before this video. You can tell she isn’t confident in what she is doing and it takes a lot of encouragement to get her in the water. You have to keep taking them!!! They aren’t gonna learn unless they are out there doing it! And once they figure it out you’ll see a light bulb go off in there head and a burst of confidence.
River running some cold blinds the other day! Trying to keep them stretched out and over come some popping issues that just started.
