Anubias is a freshwater plant that can be in the substrate of the aquarium, but it prefers to be attached to a rock or piece of wood. That way the plants rhizome (the thickest part pf the roots) is able to take in nutrients from the water.

Pest snails can be annoying and damaging to live plants, so the best solution is to add an assassin snail to your freshwater aquarium! These snails eat other snails that are smaller than them, don't eat plants, and are only one inch when fully grown.
