DEWEY FINN (TENNESSEE)
Dewey Finn is a 13yr old (estimated) 3.8 pound yorkie boy who is being fostered near Ashland City, TN. Due to how sick Dewey Finn is, it will be a few months before we will be accepting applications for adoption.
Dewey has been released from the hospital since August 18th. For those that don’t know Dewey Finns story he came into rescue after being dumped at a shelter in very bad shape. The shelter immediately reached out to rescue so we could get this little guy the care he desperately needed. He had a real bad upper respiratory infection that developed into pneumonia. He on the verge of not making it when he was hospitalized for three days. He was released to home care and has been going to regular checkups with his Dogtor to make sure he continues to improve. Dewey has shown wonderful improvement within these last three weeks. He is no longer contagious and has been able to be around the other dogs in the home for a bit during the day he just can’t get overtired. Dewey has found his voice and will bark if he wants your attention now and he eats very well. He has started to put weight back on. He is still a little fragile older guy and he has a little hump back due to his skeletal structure. He has also developed scar tissue in his lungs caused by the pneumonia. Although Dewey can see well we did testing and found out he is completely deaf. He gets around great and has a good sense of smell. Dewey has a few very infected teeth left and in another month or so we will get them removed and that should help with his runny nose. In the meantime Dewey is finishing up the remainder of his antibiotics and is getting love and special care in his foster home. He is a wonderful little boy. He enjoys being petted and scratched. He loves bath time and he will give occasional kisses. Thank you all donating to his special care.
