And THIS face!! Why hasn't anyone applied to adopt Maui??
Yes, he has a unique look, but it only adds to his charm. Everyone who meets him is captivated by his friendly, engaging greetings and his amazing happy snorts, not to mention his slightly lopsided face with a tongue that never disappears.
Yes, Maui is a senior, somewhere in the 10+ years, about 52 lbs. He is full of life. He has lived in a home and clearly misses having one. He has so much personality and love to give (and receive).
Maui came to PAWS from AHS-Newark Branch where he had been surrendered due to his skin condition. His skin was raw in spots from being so itchy and uncomfortable. PAWS pulled him, and with our vet's anti-fungal meds and antibiotics to heal skin infection, weekly medicated baths and Cytopoint injections, his skin improved significantly. He is currently off medications and is on a "maintenance plan" with the monthly Cytopoint injections and weekly medicated baths, for which he is a dream. Everyone remarks how great he looks now!
Maui loves car rides, loves making friends with people, is very nonchalant with other dogs though his amorous side sometimes has to be curbed if he feels the love (he IS neutered!) He is housebroken. Loves to nap. Walks well with other dogs.
His daily regimen includes walking over to the business next door to the kennel where he has made friends with Kim, Marcia and Tyler and he insists on going to see them, hoping they will be available to come out of the building and give him pets. It has become a ritual for him and on the weekends, when they are not there, he is disappointed.
He would love to find his forever home soon...
