Hey did you know? The cost of birds went up with the cost of everything? Straight to the point kennels doesn’t charge more than the price they pay for birds, training bird dogs definitely isnt as cheap like it use to be, I remember paying $300 for 100 bobwhites quail, that price doubled, I remember paying $600 for 100 chukars !!! That price doubled plus, we won’t go to pheasants or ducks $$$$$ even a $1.50 feral pigeon goes between $5 and $10 per birds,
Don’t be upset with the trainer for the cost of birds, he isn’t the one raising the prices, this economy is raising the prices the government is raising the prices, the cost for feed and electricity is raising the price!!!!
We as dog trainers feel it more than you think, instead of using 300 birds to try and train a dog we fight to do it with 200 birds, the price of dog food went up, the cost for help raised up $150 more a week, but that part wasn’t assessed in your bill, but yet you get upset over the one thing us dog trainers have no control over,

It’s a very sad day here at straight to the point kennels, one of our dearest best friends past away yesterday to a heart attack, she was loved by every dog here, she raised the bar to being the best of the best, Kathy supported me and my kennels flawlessly, Kathy held my business higher than anyone, not only was she great with the dogs, she was great with me, she talked me off the ledge countless times,
Kathy was my dogs best friend, after suffering a brutal attack from a dog, she still loved every dog she encountered Gus was a special dog to Kathy,
Kathy and Tom went so far out of there way to help when they knew I was struggling, never asked for it r anything and felt insulted when I offered,
I feel honored and blessed to of had her and Tom in my life, and the void she left will always be felt, I definitely will miss her laugh and smile, but most importantly I will miss her love for all dogs,
I wish I could of told her in person how much I appreciated her, my condolences to Tom and Keegen and everyone who lost such a great person,
It took me all day to drift through the thought of never hearing her laugh again, tears were definitely shed from me and all of her best friends ( dog) here….
Taken to early but definitely never forgotten, my friend Kathy you will definitely be missed

Puppies are still available, been on birds crate trained and parents are health tested, great pedigree and professional upland guide dogs for parents, they are starting to be on the started dog list, get them before the price for training comes in!!!! Hey everyone
This is Kilo,
Kilo came to me from the gsp rescue, he is a great dog with drive and plenty of it, he retrieves to hand, knows most commands, hunts close and is absolutely gorgeous ( for a GSP) lol
Kilo does have some issues though, he is looking for a single dog family, he definitely needs active parents either hunting or running, I would suggest a big back yard fenced in, he is not a dog park friendly dog, so if that’s where you run dogs he definitely isn’t for you, he is great with people and children, he is a hunting breed so without knowing I would say no cats as well,

Friday March 22 I had to say goodbye to Annie
(Just a sure shots Annie Oakley gone haywire) 05/05/2015 - 03/22/2024
It took a couple days more me to get through the chukar challenge and the loss of Annie,
In the last two days I remembered every hunt every word Annie would say to me, And yes she spoke to me, most of her words were( catch me if you can, and it’s my bowl you can’t have it!!)
Annie has been a perfect dog,/ family member, even when she thought she knew how to cook, and started the kitchen on fire, but she was pretty proud of her cooking ( smoking ) ability
She became a professional guide dog at the age of 7 months and amazed a lot of people with her high drive and ability to climb a tree for the retrieve,
Annie wasn’t only a great hunter, she was a great business rep for her litters, she definitely had the knack to get people to love her, and her puppies, Many of you that are reading this knows exactly what I’m talking about,
She will greatly be missed by everyone here and everyone far away,
Unfortunately Annie had something in her body attack her fast and hard,
March 16th Annie was playing and being her typical self, within 6 days her back legs started to not work, after multiple vet visits, Friday March 22 Annie’s hind legs were paralyzed and she was in extreme pain, even with all of the medicine she was on, it wasn’t enough to stop the pain, I made the choice to call the vet, and then laid with her until Dr. Morte arrived , after her evaluation we helped Annie cross the rainbow bridge, under her favorite tree, ( she use to roll around under and get all dirty and the race to my bed) I really think she enjoyed messing with me,
I’m sorry it took a couple extra days to post this , but it was hard to type when your eyes are watering

Hey everyone
The chukar challenge it right around the corner, definitely looking forward to another great time. There will be a couple items raffled off, the proceeds will go to Annie’s medical bills, unfortunately she came down with some kind of spinal issue, after a couple visits to the vet, still no definite answer on what’s going on with her. Right now she is on heavy pain meds and rest.. waiting on test results,

good morning and thank you to all that served. without them we wouldn't be enjoying this week end. here is Nelly she is a little over a year old. we have been working on retrieve recall and introduction to e-collar and gun conditioning. in this video we are working on retrieves. I have 3 quail launchers set at 30 yards 50 yards and 100 yards Nelly does have a hard mouth so I'm using frozen quail.

we started out enjoy the aquarium. before the video there was a group in here. but they left before we could get the video. shevdid great
I hope everyone is enjoying this weather. Pearl's owner asked me to do a video for them. Pearl definitely made me think outside the box. Pearl has become fun to work with and seems to be enjoying the learning curve. I hope everyone is safe out hunting. and everyone has a good thanksgiving.

Working with Winston on recall wait and stay. Everyday something new and everyday a positive good boy. Atta boy and lots of high praise. Makes then want to work more.
Oakley is on her way home. After so many months and hills we battled. It definitely was hard watching her leave. About 20 deep breaths. And then off to the next pup. I love what I do, But every now and then some of these dogs sneak deeper into your heart. And Oakley was definitely one of them dogs. I will definitely miss that girl. She took a little piece of me with her.. Some dogs push every button and you are happy to see them go home. And Oakley and me had them moments. We had plenty of hills we had to struggle to get over. And we had great times waiting for the next hill. The hardest part of the job is watching them ride away.
