We have a set of twins that come out at the end of our pastures every day. They were sassing off to the turkeys the other day, running around, bucking & playing. Just after I snapped this photo of them face to face, the turkey fanned out it's wings, did the "big like a bear" stance & the fawn ran off. 😆 Guess the babies are not all that tough yet. Got a few pictures of a couple that could be their daddy. 🦌
We have come to the realization that we just don’t have the time to do what we want with these two right now, so they are now available for lease (free lease for care).
We would like to keep them as a future riding pair, but until we have time for that, they are available to someone who can enjoy them for a while.
CASH is a 2 year old gelding by Heza Sexy Fella. He was started under saddle with Cole Cameron at this year’s Midwest Horse Fair. From there, he continued training for another 7 weeks, so he has a great foundation on him. He has not been shown, but did great at Midwest Horse Fair & is generally a good-minded horse with tons of potential.
SCHATZ is a 6 year old gelding by APirates Life For Me. He has been shown since he was a weanling, winning many halter titles. He is easy to show and nothing phases him. He has not been started under saddle, but training options are available. He is big, powerful and moves like a dream.
Both these boys are sound, sane & looking for something to do. Whether you are into showing or just want to go trail riding, they are both available for lease in Wisconsin or surrounding states only. The last client mare has gone home and we are down to only our own horses now. Thank you to everyone who entrusted us with your girls, whether for foaling or breeding. We appreciate your trust in us and our program, and your faith in Bif as your baby-daddy.
Don't get us wrong, we love to see trailers pulling in every spring and enjoy having mares here, especially foaling mares so we can get our baby "fix" since we are not raising our own, but we are also glad to see the stalls empty out. So much work, but also very rewarding. 🥰

Her owner came & picked her up today, we loaded her on the trailer with mama right behind and off they went. She's a wicked friendly little lady, so we're going to miss her silly antics. Funny how you can get so attached in just a week.

Look at this little darlin' that just made her appearance! This is not ours, but is a Heza Sexy Fella baby; a palomino filly! She is about as adorable as they come. Long legs, super cute head and already loaded with personality. It's going to be hard to send this one home! 🥰
The mare is a maiden and wasn't quite sure at first what the "thing" on her stall floor was, but she's got it all figured out now & is being a great mom.
We had a COOPER sighting today and he's looking as fabulous as ever!! 😍
My mother & I were out and about today and found ourselves in Cooper's neighborhood, so stopped by to say hi. He is 19 this year. When in the world did that happen?!

I am super excited to share the news that the State Vet in charge of EHV/EHM has reported that it has been over 2 weeks from Midwest Horse Fair and we are clear of any reports of sick horses from the fair. Great job everyone with the extra effort you put forth in keeping our horses safe!
Now that I've emptied all my pockets & unpacked all my notes from Midwest Horse Fair, here's a couple ISO requests:
IN SEARCH OF a yearling Heza Sexy Fella offspring. The buyer fell in love with Cash at the c**t starting clinic & is looking for her next horse. Wants a Bif baby, but doesn't want to breed & wait.
IN SEARCH OF an "old lady" trail horse. The buyer is not really an old lady, but does want something quiet & dependable. Under 15 years, buckskin preferred. Wisconsin.

Here's some footage from Cash's Sunday session with Cole Cameron Horsemanship. He had 1.5 hours on Friday, 1.5 hours on Saturday, and then 1.5 hours on Sunday, so this was his 2nd ride.
Big thanks to Cole for getting a fantastic start on Cash's training. What he can accomplish in a few hours is amazing. Our friend, and trainer, Sarah JS Bowers, had the opportunity to work with them for all sessions.
Cash was pretty tired on Sunday when we got home, but who wasn't? He's quarantining at home for the remainder of the week, then will head off to Sarah to continue his training. He will remain for sale, so give us a ring if you'd like more info. To quote Cole, "Sky's the Limit!" as to his abilities.

This is the first year that I’ve seen Cole Cameron do a clinic and it was great!! I really enjoyed it. Fun to watch!
I guess we should have posted about Bif not attending Midwest Horse Fair this year. We've found it's just too much to manage the barn and try to promote a stallion at the same time. He ends up standing there all weekend being ignored, so after last year, we decided he would stay home.
We had several people stop to visit him, only to find someone else in his stalls, so our apologies for not letting you know!
BUT, he is still breeding and we have spots available yet, so if your mare is still looking for a date, give us a call!

We have something exciting going on this weekend...
Our boy, Cash, is working with Cole Cameron, Cameron Horsemanship for the C**t Starting Sessions at Midwest Horse Fair!
This was a spur-of-the-moment thing to bring him, but it looks like it was a good move. They had a great first session today. For anyone who watched & thought this horse has had some prior training, you'd be wrong. He is fresh out of the pasture and has never seen a saddle, so Cole definitely has an unstarted c**t.
He has another session tomorrow afternoon, and again on Sunday, so we'll see how he progresses over the weekend.
This is the first time he's been off the farm, so he's definitely getting an eyful! Happy to say he's handing things pretty well, considering all that goes on here.

Bittersweet day yesterday. Mira left for her new home in the UP, so she is officially a Northwoods gal now. She was welcomed by a 17 year old mare we sold to Kathy 16 years ago. The mare was out of Boundary Breaker, the TB mare we had for so many years, sold, and then brought back home from California after we found she was being neglected. She's by our late Klassy Celebri Te, so is Mira's "Aunt". Congratulations to Kathy on her purchase of Mira. May you have many happy years with her and here's hoping she & Jetta become best buds.

I hear a lot of people ask if it's ok to put foals back together with their dams after weaning. I'm not sure about others, but this is what Luna thinks of the idea. Watch until the end. :-D Yeah, I think it's safe to say no one will try nursing off her again anytime soon.

I'm really liking the way Bif is collecting. We had a couple of mares come in for breeding yesterday and one needed to be covered right away. His collection gave us enough to breed 30 mares! This isn’t the video I was looking for, but it shows some interesting things. I wouldn’t normally show the new baby doing a wipeout, but notice when she gets up, she makes a circle, comes back to the same spot & then STOPS. She realized that was the “bad” spot, so she stopped & walked around it. She’s sure a smart little cookie. And now watch Luna just after the baby gets up. She got a little excited and when she turned, her hind fetlock knuckled forward. That’s just one thing we’ve been dealing with since she foaled. She sustained some nerve damage/paralysis during all the foaling trauma. It should resolve, but for any of you who watched on camera, you saw how unsteady she was after foaling. So much so that we almost removed the baby for her safety. Luna’s stifle/flank area was twitching for over 3 days afterwards, the vet said probably from the nerve damage. Part of that was also the left-hind fetlock knuckling forward. As of last night, Luna finally got her appetite back and is drinking normal again. We promised her that if she got this baby to term it would be her last one, and after that delivery, we’re going to stick to that plan! If there are any more babies for Luna they will be via embryo transfer.
This is what they do while we are sound asleep in our beds. Thank goodness for barn cameras.
