This is an emerging topic, but horses have been known to get sick from birds. Avian flu has been infecting cows, pigs, and cats since last year, so do your part to keep your animals healthy. Keep your feed protected/covered whenever possible and keep water buckets and troughs clean. Stay safe!

We're proud to announce that Cascadia Shadow is winning hearts over at the Washington State Fair this weekend. What an amazing opportunity for a Caspian to represent the breed at such a highly attended public space! Many people have stopped by the Caspian table to ask questions about Shadow. The number one question we get: "Is that a baby horse?" Our answer has always been a definitive "sort of," and we explain that she is a yearling that will not grow much taller than she is now. It's given us a chance to talk about how they differ from other breeds and mention their conservation, as well. The fair draws people from all walks of life and it's been a joy to engage with all these curious people!

As we head into a new year, we share our New Year's resolution with all of you.
We will place conservation of the Caspian breed above labels and politics and prioritize the Caspian's genetic diversity.

We will not categorize the breed by variation in its appearance or type, nor will we segregate the breed by its export history. Exclusion or elimination of horses based on political purity, idealized perfectionism, and fads/trends is detrimental to conservation.

This is why we recognize all purebred Caspians registered by all other Caspian registries as simply "Caspian," regardless of differences.

We understand that the more rare an animal is, the more political the environment becomes. Therefore, we also resolve to be an encouraging, supportive partner that listens to you in our shared journey to help save the Caspian horse.

The 2nd Annual Taliyeh Award event has been reacheduled from Wednesday, December 13 to Saturday, December 16, starting at 4 p.m.

We hope this change will allow more people a chance to watch live and celebrate the Caspian horse!
