URGENT NEED FOR FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME: These two females were left behind with someone who rents and cannot have them. Both are 3-5 years old and under 70 lbs. Both are healthy and loving dogs, possibly bonded, but can go separately. Remi (black), and Nelli (brown). We need to place these two in foster or a home asap. Let’s keep our furever friends safe as the temperatures start dropping.

WINTER IS COMING! Dangerous temperatures (for humans, but especially our four-legged friends) are headed our way. BE RESPONSIBLE. Bring your pets inside, if you can. If it is absolutely not possible, you must provide proper housing and extra resources to keep your pets warm. Leaving dogs outside during freezing weather, without proper shelter, warmth, and water IS ILLEGAL!
As some of you may have heard, word has been spreading on the streets about our investigators being busy. Over the last 2 years, our investigators have seen a drastic increase of cases of neglect and abuse. This won't do! Our investigators will do everything in their power to help you be the best pet owners that you can be. BUT, when you aren't willing to put the effort in, your animals suffer, and that becomes a problem.
The Montgomery Humane Officer Division, partnering with the Montgomery Humane Society, will do everything we can to help you keep Montgomery's furry friends warm and safe during the freezing temps. We will be conducting an increased number of welfare checks in the coming days. If we can help, we will do our best to help supply resources to individuals, while our supplies last. The catch is that you follow up on your end. With the resources that will be provided, there won't be any excuses for your animals to not make it through the cold weather.
LET US BE VERY CLEAR. If you have an animal that is kept outside and you do not heed the warnings, or take advantage of the resources that are being made available to anyone residing in Montgomery County, you WILL be prosecuted to the FULLEST extent of the law (Animal Cruelty IS A FELONY!).
If you see something, say something. If you see an animal being kept outside without proper shelter/resources and can safely talk to the owner, please offer assistance by informing them of the resources being provided.

Keep your pets safe tonight!!!!

Fireworks can be a source of extreme stress for pets due to their sensitive hearing and the unpredictable nature of loud noises. Many animals feel frightened or disoriented, which can lead to destructive behavior, attempts to escape, or even injury. To keep your pets safe, ensure they are indoors with a secure and comfortable space where they can retreat. Consider using calming techniques such as soothing music, anxiety wraps, or pheromone diffusers. Always ensure they have up-to-date ID tags and microchip information, just in case they manage to escape. A little preparation can make all the difference in keeping your furry friends safe and secure during fireworks displays.

Did you know that 1 in 5 pets will go missing due to fireworks on New Year’s Eve?!? As we prepare for the New Year festivities, here’s a few tips to keep your pet(s) safe during fireworks:

🐾 Keep your pet(s) inside your home. Dogs in fenced yards find ways to escape!

🐾 Create your pet(s) a safe space.

🐾 ThunderShirts are over 80% effective in helping calm dogs and reduce stress and anxiety.

🐾 Talk to your vet about medications. (This should be done way in advance.)

🐾 Make sure that your pet(s) tags and microchip information is up to date.

🐾 Exercise your dog(s) earlier in the day.

🐾 Plan potty breaks to avoid going outside after the fireworks start.

🐾 Use the tv or other noise to drown out the fireworks.
