To our Bell Road Animal Medical Center friends and family. I know this post is far overdue and I ask you to please accept my apology for the delay. This will be a lengthy post so please be understanding. It has been 9 months since our precious Dr. Lewis was hospitalized with Pneumonia as a result of Covid19 and it was October that he left us to carry on without him. As you know we all miss him daily, some of you, even though you have been friends of our practice for many years, may not know that he was my brother. This fact has made creating this post one of the most difficult I have had to make and because of this I have put it off for far too long. As you have likely gathered our practice has closed its doors for the last time. We were unable sell the practice in a timely manner and felt it would be best to close the doors than to be unable to provide the consistent level of quality service you had come to expect of us. No words can express the sorrow we feel or the gratitude we have for the loyalty of our clients and the support of the amazing veterinary community in Montgomery and the surrounding area. We hope that Dr. Lewis would have been pleased with our efforts and we know that if you knew him at all that he left an amazing impression on your heart. If you need records for your pets you may contact me here on Facebook or at [email protected]. I will do my best to respond quickly. If you would like to continue to have one of our staff members care for your pets please know that we all have found a place to use what Dr. Lewis taught us in local practices here in the Montgomery area. Kerry has taken a position at Carmichael Road Animal Clinic and is also helping at Welch Veterinary Clinic in Wetumpka, Susan has accepted a position at Goodwin Animal Hospital on Chantilly Blvd. and Mackenzie and I are working at VCA Eastmont Vaughn Animal Hospital. We all love and appreciate you so much and we miss our Doggy Day Care family as well as our veterinary patients. Blood supplies have been low for months, and the resurgence of Covid-19 and the omicron variant has caused blood drive cancelations, staffing challenges and donor eligibility misinformation, furthering the seriousness of the shortage. However, the need for blood is urgent and blood donors are asked to donate soon. Donating blood is safe, takes about an hour and can save up to three lives. Please consider donating blood this Monday, February 14. Give the gift of life. Give blood.

Are there Obnoxious Odors in your home? We know how it is....the lingering smell of the litter box that got over looked or the doggy bedding that needs a wash can creep up on you. 2021 came and went bringing with it so many challenges and leaving behind so many changes. Our veterinary practice has not escaped either of these. The loss of Dr. Lewis last October has certainly changed our lives. We are learning to be resilient and thankful. Our little family here would like all of our loyal and supportive family out there to know how much we appreciate your confidence in us and how grateful we are that you have continued into 2022 with us. We want to say thank you to the amazing veterinary community that continues to reach out and support us. We are looking forward to good things this year and we hope you will stick with us to see what they are. From Susan, Kerry, Mackenzie and Andrea Thank You and we hope to see you soon.

Please help us bring some Holiday Happiness to the pets at Montgomery Humane Society this year. We know not everyone is not able to foster or adopt a pet but imagine the difference we can make if we all pitch in with a donation to help bring joy and comfort for these pets as the employees and volunteers work to find them forever homes! No time to go by the shelter....no problem. Bell Road Animal Medical Center is a convenient drop off site for donations, we will even pick them up curbside for you. Santa's good doggy and kitty list includes the following: Toys and treats for stockings and even Bedding, Towels, Litter (commercial or shredded paper/newspaper) and cleaning supplies to keep their environment clean and comfy as well as monetary gifts. 'Tis the Season for Giving! Happy Holidays!!!

It’s that time of year again! Come on in and stuff our stockings! Adopted animals will get to take their stockings into their forever homes. Any animal who does not get a forever home for the holidays will receive their special gifts Christmas morning from either a staff member or an “Operation Silent Night”
Foster parent.
