Please help us welcome Dr. Warren, the newest member of the Taylor Crossing Family!
Originally from the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee, Dr. Warren earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from East Tennessee State University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University!
At home, she and her husband share their lives with a vibrant family of pets: two dogs, three cats, a leopard gecko, a bearded dragon, a hognose snake, and two slider turtles. Her personal experience with a variety of species has deepened her understanding and empathy for the diverse needs of her patients and has motivated her to become Fear Free Certified . Outside of the clinic, Dr. Warren enjoys traveling, hiking and camping, playing pickleball and board games, and tending to her many house plants.
Dr. Warren is thrilled to be part of the Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital family. She looks forward to partnering with you to provide your pets, even your reptiles and small mammals, with the highest quality of care, treating them as though they were her own beloved companions.

This time of the year our pets are indoors and tempted by all kinds of new items to chew on! This includes ornaments, tinsel, chocolate treats, blankets, ribbons, toys, you name it!

This sweet baby decided to chew up and swallow part of her favorite blankie!

Dr Loch identified the object on the X-ray and based on the clinical signs, decided that surgery was the best option to remove the intestinal blockage.
We are pleased to report that she is doing well and back to playing with balls (and no more blankies for her!)

All jokes aside, if your pet has a symptoms such as vomiting or decreased/no appetite, this can be an emergency. Please call us if you suspect your pet has eaten anything he/she shouldn’t have!

Did you know that dogs can have lice? It is rare but as you see in this video this dog was infested. Lice are host specific meaning human lice only affect humans and dog lice only affect dogs. Children who have lice get them from other humans. There are two types in dogs- chewing lice and blood sucking. This pet had blood sucking lice which break the skin and cause severe itching and infection. The good news is that typically only dogs housed together in tight spaces such as shelters and puppy mills are affected and lice are pretty easy to kill because they have not built any resistance to insecticides. If you suspect skin problems in your pet, your veterinarian can help you determine the cause (hopefully it isn’t lice!)
