CUSTOMK9.DOG and APRILSOUNDDOGWALKANDTRAIN.COM SERVICES LIST:
832-512-6527
Facebook only allows me to list one service. We actually do a few things: custom one-on-one in person dog training at your house. "Walk Training"- the dog is getting basica obedience training and exercise at the same time in these 1 hour long sessions. Basic dog walking, but only available in April Sound and Lake Conroe Village. Pet sitting, generally speaking, I only serve April Sound and Lake Conroe Village. I do make occasional exceptions on a case-by-case basis. This is where the dog stays safe in it's familiar environment while mommy and daddy are off on vacation. For further details on these programs and more please see below.
1.) At your house, on your time schedule, in person dog training. I customize plans to meet the needs of the client and their dog. I use a variety of methods from traditional training to e-collars. The goal with this program is to teach the client how to train dogs. A trained dog is a journey, it's not a destination, and trainers are not around all the time. The best way to assure a positive healthy relationship between your family and your dog is to learn how to train dogs correctly. After all, if you're a dog owner, you are a dog trainer already, whether you realize it or not. Your dog is learning from you constantly. Sometimes they learn good things and sometimes not so good.
My goal is to leave you with a lifelong skill set that you can share with others and use on various dogs throughout your lifetime.
Basic obedience usually takes anywhere from 8 to 12, 1 hour sessions with the trainer. In person lessons are $60 per hour. This is a pay-as-you-go program with no upfront cost or contracts.
* I also do PTSD and therapy dogs.
2.) If your dog needs exercise and training both at the same time, I have a system that I use that I created myself that's called "Walk Training". Using this method, I train the dog basic obedience commands as I walk the dog. So we are killing two birds with one stone, getting the exercise and getting the training. While this can be for people that don't have enough time to work with the dogs themselves, I do also teach clients how to continue on with walk training. Dog training is very much use it or lose it. There is no "the dog is trained and that's it". Dog training is a lifestyle that everyone that owns a dog should practice.
I charge $60 for one hour long one-on-one with your dog and or you walk training sessions. If you are a busier person and you need your dog trained and you also need it exercised, this program fits the bill.
3.) Board and train. An intensive one month long training program to instill basic commands in the dog over a 30-day period. The dog stays at my place. And the last week I get together with the owner as often as possible to teach the owner the commands and the basics of the art of "dog handling". It doesn't do me or anyone else any good if I train a Ferrari and hand it off to people that don't know how to drive. Learning the commands and hand signals and developing the muscle memory required to execute commands is crucial to long-term success.
We normally only take on prepubescent dogs, the minimum age is 4 months and the maximum age is 10 months. A session is $2,000 per month and that includes room and board. Contact me for a complete list of all commands, there's about 20 of them. Board and train is normally booked several months in advance. So if you have a puppy, now would be the time to book a slot.
I also kennel, board and train PTSD dogs here full time, so space is very limited. I only take on one dog per month from the General Public.
4.) Pet sitting (in your home). I have worked at three different kennels and the common denominator between all of them is it doesn't matter how nice the kennel is, the dog has no idea what's going on, why it's there, if and when the owners are coming back. So kennels are incredibly stressful on a dog, especially older dogs and the very young. The Simple Solution is at home in a familiar environment pet sitting. I make 15 minutes visits at $20 per visit and recommend two visits per day. I charge the same whether you have one dog or four dogs. I'm only making one trip over there after all. And yes, I will even pet sit a cat. To make this work smoothly for everybody, I highly recommend, if you don't already have a "doggie door", installing a doggie door prior to using the service.
I install doggie doors at $150 per install. You buy whatever door you want and I will install it. Please consult me before purchasing, thank you.
Generally speaking, but with rare exceptions, I primarily only pet sit in April and Lake Conroe Village because of proximity.
5.) Dog walking. There are two options here. You have basic dog walking. I train the dog to "heel", to make the walk more enjoyable for both me and the dog. But I do not do further training. This is primarily focused on exercise.
Basic dog walking has three packages one hour for $40, 30 minutes for $25 and 15 minutes for $15.
RSVP at 832-512-6527. Generally speaking, these are at set days of the week and set times as best as is possible. Dog walking services are only available in April Sound and in Lake Conroe Village.
The other option is dog "walk and train". These are 1 hour sessions designed to teach your dog basic obedience and necessary commands (such as Sit, Stay, come, ect.) Dog walking and train sessions run $60 for 1 hour. How quickly it works and the dogs get basic obedience down depends on the interaction of the owners and whether or not they are involved.
I do travel beyond April Sound to do dog "Walk and Train" sessions. I try and stay under 10 or 15 miles for times sake.
6.)Addressing problem behaviors with one-time visits. I can address problem behaviors such as barking and jumping on guests, digging up the yard, etc on a case by case basis. One time visit problem behavior fixes are $60 to $80 depending upon the level of difficulty of the problem, for 1 hour. Follow up sessions are also available.
Helping you take care of your furry friends in April Sound.
