This week we are going to ditch some of the hot enrichment activities outside and double up on some basic obedience in the cool building.

Brain work and training can be just as exhausting as physical activities.

The main goal this week is to get the campers to do a sit and stay before walking through a door way .

Many of the dogs charge through the doors and this can cause injuries to the humans.

At the end of the week i will give each dog a homework assignment. It will be to practice door sits at home. Do this how ever you like. You can google or utube it or I can give you some ideas that I use.

Since I will be closed for two weeks , they will have lots of opportunities to work on this homework.

Many of our campers are already trained in this , if your dog has mastered the door sit, maybe you could work on “place”

I just had the absolute sweetest visit from Remis mama!!!
She just popped in to give me an amazing gift and I am thrilled with what it is.
If anyone knows what my old business was, you would know how much this was appreciated.
Any guesses to what I’m nationally certified in yet do not practice anymore?

Great way to wrap up our week at camp!
Jessie and Ava worked hard and played hard!
FYI I brushed out the campers with an undercoat rake guess who I got the most fur off of ? Hint … it is a black dog. ( not Rosie)

Jessie and Ava worked hard at RDC today clearing out an area of junk. Alex also got busy with some new additions to the dog park.
I entertained the campers by playing our version of “duck..duck..goose” , “ bunny foo foo” and then they each enjoyed a frozen kong and cool down nap.

Another manic Monday!
We had an extra helper today. I’ll make sure and get a picture of her tomorrow. Ava was a lot of help today walking dogs and washing kongs.
