Golden Acres Ranch is looking for work campers for immediate start.
Mayhaw Harvest
We expect a great crop of Mayhaws this year and are looking for a couple work campers to help harvest.
You may be asking “what is a Mayhaw?” They are a little berry that you shake from a tree to harvest and they make excellent jelly, cake, and wine! If ya know ya know!
We are located in North Florida (Monticello) and would exchange help for a site with water and electricity. There is a dump station on site as well as use of laundry facilities. There is not a wage. Site only.
This is a physical job and requires wading in water and it is outside work in nature with the possibility of interactions with wildlife.
The time period is April 1st thru the end of May. There is a chance to stay longer for the right campers.
Singles, couples, or families welcomed. We have many dogs that work on our premesis and will consider your well behaved, non agressive pooch.
You would be asked to work 20-25 hours each week and can set your own schedule. We are a working ranch with goats, sheep, and poultry. Included in your weekly hours we may ask you to help with feeding them.
Monticello has amazing bike paths and waterways perfect for kayaks and the beach is only 2 hrs away. The state Capital is one city over with historic sites and great parks.
Must pass a background check and have references.
DM for more information.

Look at our hand raised Guinea Keets. 6 wks old. Ready for new homes. Some colored some pearl.
Here are some benefits of guineas.…
Guineas have been used to control wood ticks and insects such as grasshoppers, flies, and crickets. Guineas can reduce keepers' risk of Lyme disease by consuming deer ticks, which carry the disease. Guinea fowl also eat slugs, and flocks have been known to attack snakes.

Guinea Fowl Keets in North Florida
Used primarily for tick control in rural areas, adult Guinea Fowl are low-maintenance as well as entertaining. They are part of the larger family of chickens, turkeys, pheasant and peacocks, but they hail from Africa.
We have hatchlings from our own nests in a variety of colors, and more coming in for the Fall Farm Tour in August. You'll need to keep them contained and fed until they can fly. But then, they roost in the trees and fend for themselves.

Great Pyrenees Puppy Sleeping in the Summer Heat
Great Pyrenees are just naturally human-friendly and predator-averse. They are guardian dogs, not 'guard dogs,' or herding dogs. They even keep owls and hawks from landing. A great option if you have a few acres and some livestock for them to live and bond with.
In this heat they dig into the cool dirt and take long naps during the day.
Our last two female pups are getting tall! Call Bobbie at 850-508-2607 for more information.
No, this is not a mess. It’s a beach party! The blue sheet is the water.
Great Pyrenees Puppies for Sale
We have two Great Pyrenees puppies still for sale. Both are male, have their puppy shots and healthy puppy certificates. $450 each. They need a good-sized property and livestock to guard. Call, message or email us.
Four puppies left. Two males still for sale.
Our last evening with the puppies. The big dogs came and ate all their puppy food. They all went back under the shady front porch instead of hanging around to entertain us. It’s been fun and hectic have them here through the heat and the storms. Watch them grow and expand their world.
We are a small, family-run, artisan ranch in the panhandle of Florida. We raise sheep and goats, board pets, have Farm Tours and make jelly from the native Mayhaw trees on the property.
We raise Tennessee Fainting Goats to sell to families for pets, w**d control or breeding. This breed of goat and their cousins, the Mini-Myotonics are perfect outdoor pets for children.
We also raise wool sheep for fiber products. We maintain our herds and flocks at sustainable levels and they are all pasture-raised naturally, without pesticides or hormones, in a non-stressed environment.
We board dogs and other family pets. We have a combination of indoor and outdoor facilities for all types and sizes. We especially love dogs, and keep Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs on the property to protect the sheep and goats. They live outdoors with their particular flock, and every year or so we breed a female for puppies to sell.
Golden Acres Ranch is situated just north of the small town of Monticello on forty-three acres of cultivated pine forest and pasture. It has one of the largest Mayhaw ponds in the region. Every year we have a Mayhaw Berry Harvest Festival where, harvest-permitting, you can get freshly harvested berries or some of our own Mayhaw Berry Jelly. We also grow blueberries and make Blueberry Jam.
The ranch provides a beautiful venue for recreation, education, and the sale of food, art, and other natural products from nearby farms and craftspeople. We’re proud to be among the original participants of the Annual Regional Farm Tour. Keep an eye on this website or sign up for our newsletter to see what’s happening next.
