We are a local non-profit, selective intake, animal shelter in Monticello, Fl located in Jefferson County, Florida. All funds raised go to support the animals, providing shelter, food, medical care and love. All our volunteers are committed to helping the animals in our community by providing service to the public through education, various fund raising events, animal awareness programs, rescue an

d adoption programs. Wag the Dog Thrift & Treasure Shop
Located at 315 North Jefferson Street in Monticello. Please donate gently used items during operating hours, All proceeds benefit the animals at the shelter. Monetary donations can be sent to the shelter at:

Items needed at the shelter:
*Collars and Leashes
*Dog and Cat Treats
•Baby receiving blankets
•Cleaning supplies, paper towels, dawn liquid detergent.
* KMR (kitten milk replacer)
•Animal crates (all sizes)
*Animal Transport carriers (for cats & Small dogs)
•Animal toys ( Cat & Dog)
•Heavy duty garden hoses


Volunteers are always welcome at the shelter and Wag the Dog thrift store. You can help by walking dogs, petting cats, cleaning, and general maintenance at the shelter. At the thrift shop, volunteers help organize, clean and sort donated goods. Current Board Members:

Available for adoption! Spot and Maggie need your help 💕 their owner passed away. They are looking for a forever home together. Both are sweet as can be once they get to know you and want to be in your lap together. Spot, tri color, male, 17lbs, 1yr, son to Maggie, 13lbs, 3 yrs, Chihuahua mix, heartworm negative. They will be fixed and up to date on vaccines December 3rd. Adoption Fee is $250 for pair.

Please share, tell your friends and help your neighbors. The weather the next couple days is going to be very cold. Outdoor dogs need protection. We are offering broken FREE trash cans that will protect them from the wind and rain. Best if stuffed with straw to help keep them warm. They're at the front gate of the shelter. Please help yourself we have plenty. 2123 East Washington Hwy Monticello, Fl 32344, approx 2 mi east of the courthouse.

All our volunteers are committed to helping the animals in our community by providing service to the public through education, various fund raising events, animal awareness programs, rescue and adoption programs. Wag the Dog Thrift & Treasure Shop Located at 155 N Jefferson St in Monticello. Please donate gently used items during operating hours, All proceeds benefit the animals at the shelter. Monetary donations can be sent to the shelter at: PO Box 954 Monticello, FL 32345 Items needed at the shelter: •Toys for the dogs and cats! •Cleaning supplies, paper towels, Dawn liquid detergent. •Animal crates (all sizes) •Animal transport carriers (for cats & small dogs) •Collars and leashes •Small blankets Volunteers are needed and always welcome at the shelter. You can help the most by simply spending time with the animals. Walking a dog or brushing a cat, playing with puppies or sitting in a room with kittens while they sleep on your lap. Come take pictures and hand out treats. The animals always want attention and they need all the human interaction they can get. Wag the Dog also welcomes volunteers. At the thrift shop, volunteers help organize, clean, move heavy items, and sort donated goods. Every animal benefits when you volunteer your time. The Humane Society attends the Petsmart Adoption Booth at 3220 Capital Circle NE every 1st & 3rd Sunday from 11AM to 4 PM.
