We are experiencing growing pains,,,, Lyle and Tucker are learning their new home ,,,,who doesn’t kick up their heels when life gives you reasons to kick up your heels!!!!

We don’t post much with our veterans working with the horses,,,that’s their business,,,but this Soldier asked us to share what he discovered for the first time today,,,,to connect and join up with a horse that is struggling with trust!!! It took time but he was able to convince the horse that it was better to be with him than out next to rail looking for a way out!!!

“Ten Bears” (Bear) belongs to another organization (Therapeion) but he is having trouble understanding his job,,,therefore he is currently working with the veterans here at the Rock to trust, learn, understand how to work with humans, and be comfortable with his surroundings. He’s is doing great!
Pawnee turns 24!!!! This is how he celebrates his birthday (Feb 28th) not acting his age!!!

The Horse with Many Names
He is here a day short of a week and is exceeding all of his daily goals. Here you see him all tacked up and lunging and on day one he didn’t know which direction to go or why he even had to go and why he couldn’t just stand on top of you. Proud of the training that level II volunteers and veterans are getting as well!!!

The Two Beasts!
Easy day as everyone was away at meetings, canceled cause of weather or is away for spring break so Emily and Kim exercised every horse in both round pens. Enjoy the part where we got lazy and did a two for one!
Almost 30 human hours on the farm today!!!!! Lil JW demonstrates her trotting skills on her racehorse Pawnee while her mom rides the N field! Come on spring!
