Rocking Horse Ranch Arkansas is the home of Becke & Billy Williams and a place to enjoy the outdoors while riding horses. Becke and Billy are both lifetime educators in the public education systems of Texas and Arkansas. On retirement after 36 years, Mrs Becke earned her PATH International Therapeutic Riding Instructor certification in order to be better qualified as a riding instructor. Instructi
on is available in Western and English riding to students that are able bodied as well as special needs riders. Contact us for a visit to the ranch to meet us and our horses. Riding Lessons can be scheduled based on availability.

Sept 2 thru Dec 15 will be the fall session. Riding available Tue-F at 3:30 until 5:30. The arena has lights so we can ride when daylight time changes.

Today Is the first time to be back on the tractor since I tested + Covid. I was really sick for a week, cancelled riding. My riding families, friends and sons helped and encouraged me as I needed to get strong again.
After bushogging for an hour and a half this morning, I feel stronger than I have in a month!

This is an intact male dog that came up 3 weeks ago. Looks to be around 12 months old, seems to have had children and family experience.
BUT he’s not being claimed by anyone.
I’ve worked w him to walk on lead and improve other behaviors. One big issue is almost constant barking when separated from me.
Please help me find his owner(family

Me and Connie Holt from Equestrian Zone are PATH Intl CTRI and have PATH Intl Centers in our home towns. We were at St Louis learning more Horsemanship skills at the Clinton Anderson Walkabout tour this week end.

Honey and Ginger getting turnout in the arena. They just got their afternoon soaked shreds, now have water tubs and hay for the night.
Temps in high 40’s tonight, no blankets.
In the mid 30degrees this afternoon , took blankets off my 2 older mares. Horses all in this lot so they’ll have water to drink without breaking ice.

This is Jan 8, 2024, I’ve turned Ginger out in arena after a day in the stable w a blanket on.
She rolls and runs around.
In this clip the first gait you see is trotting the rail. Then she goes into the lope on the short side.
Wanted y’all to see what a 27 yo mare can still do! Of course she’s been on vacation for almost a month and is rested and ready for her rider.

A merrier Christmas for some little girl! My riders and families here at RHR AR got all this for an Angel Tree child from the Educational Coop here in Monticello. So proud of you all for the caring hearts you’ve shown.

These two riders came out to help give Missy my QH/ Shetland pony a bath. This is the Third bath this week! Lol! Some other of my riders have helped and learned about washing a horse. Missy was enjoying the special allergy shampoo baths, helps with her itch/hives.

This heat chart shows temperatures that are too hot based on air temp and the relative humidity. Riding canceled when in the red, in the orange area, riding depends on the rider. Parents please contact me if temps are over 95

This is a close up of a Buffalo gnat. They suck blood from an animal and sometime causes allergic whelps
See the hump by the front.
I’ve had several requests for my horse fly mix. The Buffalo gnats don’t like it, will stay away for several hours. I spray in mornings and later in afternoon.

Riding at RHR ARkansas is in the winter session, and weather in our beautiful state can be in 60’s one day and drop 20 degrees the next day., especially with North winds blowing!
We cancel riding when it’s 40 or below, and with a wind chill of 40 !

The Drew County 4H Horse club had their community service project this month. We invited the community to come visit see the horses and our club do a small show as 4H members competed in showmanship. Cans of food was collected and given to Hope Place Monticello

I keep heated water buckets and water heaters in the horse tanks by the stable, my horses can move in and out of the area. This is Ginger this am drinking freezing water! What’s with this horse??

Turned out the mares I use for riding lessons and equine activities and therapies. Ginger and Honey are both 20+ years and are wearing blankets in their stalls this week. Turn the sound on to hear them and my comments. I’m a PATH Intl instructor here in Monticello, AR
Beautiful Fall day here at the ranch, this is 6 of our horses on their turn out pastures. Each pasture is a little over 2 acres , with horses able to come up into run ins during bad weather.
Update on three of our horses as I prepare for seasonal changes.
