In the mid 30degrees this afternoon , took blankets off my 2 older mares. Horses all in this lot so they’ll have water to drink without breaking ice.
Blankets back on tonight!
This is Jan 8, 2024, I’ve turned Ginger out in arena after a day in the stable w a blanket on.
She rolls and runs around.
In this clip the first gait you see is trotting the rail. Then she goes into the lope on the short side.
Wanted y’all to see what a 27 yo mare can still do! Of course she’s been on vacation for almost a month and is rested and ready for her rider.
Horses after their evening feedings today. Horses are so funny!
Good ground work, this young lady also can catch and tack up Ginger by herself!
She rode this pattern and the obstacle trail, after this warm up.

Merry Christmas from Ginger and all the horses at the ranch!
It’s almost Christmas, the day we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ! The best gift ever!!
Shaking it off!! Honey B always rolls and shakes herself after her rides here at the ranch. 20 yo mare❤️
Turned out the mares I use for riding lessons and equine activities and therapies. Ginger and Honey are both 20+ years and are wearing blankets in their stalls this week. Turn the sound on to hear them and my comments.
I’m a PATH Intl instructor here in Monticello, AR
Working with Montie, a wagon horse. He’s in round pen , learning to lunge. Baby steps.
He’ll also learn to stand for being mounted.
His hooves were so bad when I first got him, couldn’t work him much or often.
Look at that pretty trot now!
