The ranch is open again for riding!
I closed down because all my horses had pinkeye, caught it from face flies that came here traveling in a horse trailer. The fly masks were on for 4 days with treatments 2 x a day. Thankful they healed

Many of you know I was a masters level school counselor 26 yrs. 18 at Monticello Intermediate, 6 at Fordyce Elementary and 3 at SEABEC the vocational school at Warren High School. ( love vocational work)
In the 1980’s ARkansas education took Character into the classrooms with School counselors doing classroom Guidance, teaching Character Counts!
ARkansas was one of the few states to have elementary counselors in the early years of school counseling.

As we vote this year, consider the issues, consider the candidate.
Character does count!

I’m often on the internet, here’s something I teach, horses have feelings.

2010 study found that horses remembered how an individual human behaved towards them based on just one interaction, even as long as eight months later, and behaved better with handlers who used positive handling techniques, such as stroking or speaking in a soft voice.

Sept 2 thru Dec 15 will be the fall session. Riding available Tue-F at 3:30 until 5:30. The arena has lights so we can ride when daylight time changes.

Today Is the first time to be back on the tractor since I tested + Covid. I was really sick for a week, cancelled riding. My riding families, friends and sons helped and encouraged me as I needed to get strong again.
After bushogging for an hour and a half this morning, I feel stronger than I have in a month!
Yea! Have a Happy 4th July!

This is an intact male dog that came up 3 weeks ago. Looks to be around 12 months old, seems to have had children and family experience.
BUT he’s not being claimed by anyone.
I’ve worked w him to walk on lead and improve other behaviors. One big issue is almost constant barking when separated from me.
Please help me find his owner(family

9:45; and 11:00.
The Ranch is closed in August.

Me and Connie Holt from Equestrian Zone are PATH Intl CTRI and have PATH Intl Centers in our home towns. We were at St Louis learning more Horsemanship skills at the Clinton Anderson Walkabout tour this week end.
I won a Richie Automatic Horse watered, given away by the sponsor!! I’ve always wanted one, thanks Richie Company, Clinton Anderson and his tour staff for a great clinic and a big win for me

Honey and Ginger getting turnout in the arena. They just got their afternoon soaked shreds, now have water tubs and hay for the night.
Temps in high 40’s tonight, no blankets.

In the mid 30degrees this afternoon , took blankets off my 2 older mares. Horses all in this lot so they’ll have water to drink without breaking ice.
Blankets back on tonight!

This is Jan 8, 2024, I’ve turned Ginger out in arena after a day in the stable w a blanket on.
She rolls and runs around.
In this clip the first gait you see is trotting the rail. Then she goes into the lope on the short side.
Wanted y’all to see what a 27 yo mare can still do! Of course she’s been on vacation for almost a month and is rested and ready for her rider.
