This year, I’ve decided to update our cover photo to feature the dogs from Potter's Angels Rescue who are currently staying at our facility and hoping for a foster or forever home. ❤️

It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since we closed on Four Paws Inn. In that time, this facility has allowed us to save countless lives we otherwise could not have. It has given dogs an emergency place to land, the opportunity for behavioral assessment to help with placement (both through us and partner rescues), and the chance to learn the life skills they were never given—skills that allow them to succeed in a home.

I am endlessly grateful for our clients and supporters who make this work possible. 🙏

Marley will be kicking off this new tradition, as she will likely ring in the New Year here with us. She is a perfect example of a dog who needed—and deserved—a helping hand. At just one year old, she has experienced enough trauma to last a lifetime, yet she continues to prove just how resilient these incredible dogs are.

After a week of consistency and routine, Marley began to show progress. Dogs crave stability—something they can depend on. Too often, the dogs we take in have known nothing but chaos and uncertainty, and that’s when patience and understanding must take precedence over expectations. Dogs can and will get there when we provide the right support, guidance, and time. They need time to restabilize.

During her first week, Marley remained distrustful of other dogs—but we stayed the course. Her routine never changed. We continued calm, controlled group walks so she could observe a different way of being. There was no pressure to interact, only consistent exposure and reassurance. We didn’t give up on her. We didn’t say she couldn’t do it. We simply kept showing her what safe coexistence looked like.

She is already making wonderful progress in the areas she struggled with upon arrival, and I am so incredibly proud of her. I’m also deeply grateful to all of you who allow us to help dogs like Marley overcome their past and move toward a brighter future.

This year, the Four Paws crew is taking the lead on one of our biggest fundraisers yet! 🎉 And to make it even better… we’ve donated a generous gift certificate that will be auctioned off — you definitely won’t want to miss this one.

We’re also doubling our fundraising goal to $20,000. While that may sound ambitious, the reality is that we spent more than that in less than six months on veterinary care alone. Rescue work isn’t cheap, and with no state funding for the animals in our care, we rely heavily on the support of our community to continue saving lives.

Every donation, bid, and share helps us keep doing what we do best — giving animals the care, safety, and second chances they deserve. Thank you for standing behind us and being part of the Four Paws family. 🐾💙

Merry Christmas Eve from the best pups around!
They had the best time with all of their friends today, and got tons of energy out. Now they'll have a nice and relaxing night, while they patiently await Santa Paws arrival.
We hope you all gave a fabulous Christmas with all of your families.

Tuesday crews!
We all had a great time with our furry friends today at daycare!
They all had a grand time playing and racing around the yard.
They took a wee break to warm their paws and rest, and then it was right back to playing!

With the holidays coming up we are especially thankful that we get to spend our days outside playing with all of these beautiful pups. And with Santa-Paws on his way to town, you know we tired these guys out they’ll be on their best behavior 😉 have a great night everyone!

Thursday crews!
Our calm crews had a great day today with their buddies!
We met some new friends that integrated into groups nicely. Everyone had a ball!
Happy faces all around, as they rolled around and raced through the yards.

Another successful day of play here at Four Paws!
Wednesday crews had a blast with their best buddies. The snow was nice and sticky, so we played who can catch the most snow balls.
We took a break to warm our paws, and then we were right back to frolicking and playing our hearts out.
