Search and rescue is not for the faint of heart. We want to remind everyone to utilize trusted trained resources to trap scared animals. Many mean well but actually put animals at a much higher risk. I have no pictures from the last few hard days. We hope our friends and their families are all safe and we will continue doing what we do. Be kind FIRST ❤️
Some days we have to say whoa and listen to our patients a little louder! Todays patient was a 12 year old girl named Coco. She takes some pretty serious cautions because her opinion is to maybe bite first and talk later. We gave her some happy meds for mom to pre med with and she was awesome at drop off. She needed a large tumor removed over her right eye that was itchy and painful. It was also growing very fast.
She was a rescue at 8 years old and mom has had to really put a lot of time and effort into getting her to trust. Soooo… we had to sedate her to be able to do much. Once sedated we took films to find some pretty extreme abnormalities. Rads are going to radiologist because her chest looks very wrong. Mom says she gets winded fairly easily but really only put that together after we expressed our concerns. Little miss also didn’t want to keep her pressures up so it was a bit of a tight rope act there for a while. Tonight she is having a sleep over. She has endured a bath after some unplanned pooping and she has had to deal with other animals which is not her jam! Anywho… this lovely lady had an eyelift, a radical manipedi and a pretty awesome bath. The funniest thing is that she won’t eat if you look at her… she is a doll with a little shake of tude. Our favorite.

Anyone have a nursing momma cat that might be game to take on 6 …. about two week old babies. Just found under a shed in Worcester. Momma cat no where to be found and these guys are hungry and thin. We have started feeding of course but there is nothing like a momma. If you have any leads on a momma please PM me. If you feel like being a momma cat for 2-3 weeks and have experience bottle feeding please PM me. Please only experienced folks. This is a labor of love and you really need to enjoy this every two hour feeding and pooping thing! ❤️😍
Good times today at the Worcester, VT 4th of July Parade. Getting our mission out to folks is really important. Chase the kitty hung out on the treatment table and got pet by a bunch of kids. Folks learned about our mobile surgery truck and loved seeing all the cool stuff inside. Thanks to Pam Everingham and Abby Bruce for helping us bathe the beast! Thanks to Barb who helped organize the inside so folks could come and go easier. Very fun day!! Happy 4th everyone!!
Finnster’s Comeback
This week we have been super busy with really sick in need animals.
This is Finnster. He came in matted to the skin and in desperate need of every tooth being removed. His owners are seniors and had no resources or options they knew of until they found us. Finny still has a long rode ahead. He has some painful lesions from the mats and may have a nasal fistula because all of the good bone was eaten away from his dental disease. We will post more detailed pics on our website but for know Happy Passover and Happy Easter from all of us and Finnster!
