Providing quality grass feed beef is only the beginning of what my family and I see as a long term future for our sustainable land management practices that we hope to eventually grow into a fully functioning farm and “plot to plate” bed and breakfast retreat! At 150 acres, we are considered a small farm that contains six well stocked tanks, a small heard of Herford cows, a hand full of chickens a

nd some of the most beautiful flowered rolling hills and sunsets that Central Texas has to offer!! Several areas of our farm are heavily wooded and provide great habitat for many of our native and transient wildlife friends. One specific initiative we are currently exploring is how to further develop habitat for Quail, to assist in combatting the recent Central Texas decline in population. Through responsible and sustainable practices, my family and I hope to preserve our farm for future generations to enjoy. Our mission is simple - teach our children the importance of stewardship and provide opportunities for the enjoyment of a more slow paced way of living!

From taekwondo and baseball tournaments this weekend to harvesting this years honey, everyone is working hard! I robbed the girls earlier this week and now we are extracting this sweet, sweet goodness! Raw honey, straight off the comb, the best!!!

Even our tiniest friends need water in this heat! You too can help these sweet girls, just put rocks, corks, or something else they can stand on to drink in a container of water.

…and yes, the buzzing noise in the video are the girls, about 50 of them getting water last night. They know where the water is and go tell the others through their bee waddle dances.

There’s a cold front coming in on Tuesday, and that makes stew a great option!!! We have stew meat available. We also have ground beef and cutlets if you’re interested RIGHT NOW!
