Since my feed is filled with nothing but the new AQHA Digital Registration argument. I decided to put in my two cents and maybe stop some of the misinformation out there.

You will still be able to mail in transfers and registration apps and a copy of the papers will be mailed back to you if requested.

There really isn’t going to be that much difference other than transfers being almost instantaneous and registration to be much faster than than relying on the mail. The paper copy will not be the negotiable document. The digital copy at AQHA is. This will hopefully lesson the number of horses out there that never get transferred from original owners name. I for one love this idea and the fact that i will be able to transfer ownership immediately at the time of the sale. This will prevent the current situation of me being down to six AQHA registered horses to AQHA showing I own close to 30. It will also eliminate the phone calls from people that bought a horse from some random person that we raised wanting us to help them get them transferred or replace lost certificates. This will also do away with lost papers and having to file for replacements. They already, and have for years, discount online registrations, i’m sure that will continue. Maybe online transfers will be discounted as well. They have also been issuing digital copies upon completion of registration/transfer for several years now if they have an email for you.

People are losing their minds over changes for the better that they can take advantage of if they want to. This will save AQHA a lot of money. I know there have been recent price increases, but maybe the savings from this will prevent future price increases.

Most of this info comes from AQHA Director Ryan A Fleetwood. He has posted on Facebook several times. you can do a search and find the info.

For the last decade or so, every time you send in a horses papers, for transfers, name change, etc. AQHA reprints them and sends the NEW COPY back to you. They are ALL copies. What difference does it make who prints them? You, me, or AQHA?

Local Folks. Would there be any interest in stallion collection here locally? I had gotten away from collecting outside stallions due to other obligations, but I got laid off and with our stud basically retired, I was thinking of offering. stallion collection and shipped semen to the public again. I know we are already into the season, just trying to gauge interest.
