The greatest mark on a farrier is to keep a horse sound without shoes. Shoes should only be necessary if nothing else works. If your farrier recommends supplements and time, and you aren't willing to do it... then recovery is on you.
If your farrier says, " They need shoes"
Are they just looking for more 💲.

As Travis Burns says, " Our job is to keep a horse sound and if NECESSARY, put a shoe on it"

So Kelvin has been released to light duty. What this currently means is no shoes and can trim horses that stand well. Limited hours per week, but he is well on his way to a full recovery. To his clients, he will be in touch when he is able to accommodate your horses. We all want to thank you for your patience, while he heals. It is so important he follow the doctor's orders so he can return without suffering another injury.

He went to the doctor Tuesday, got his stitches out and has to wear a hinged brace. He has physical therapy a couple days a week. So far so good with his recovery.

Can you tell just by looking at two different colored hooves, which one will be stronger? Farriers are on opposite sides of the fence on this issue.

So this morning, the nerve block in his shoulder is wearing off, he is able to move his shoulder some. He is in decent spirits, he was able to sleep off and on throughout the night. I'm sure as the arm wakes up more, the pain will increase. The fun part is keeping him still lol. He is NOT 1 to sit around. Please continue to pray for a quick healing.
And to his clients, please be patient as he tries to find those who can cover for him.
