We are now opening enrollment for our new lesson year! We have only a few spots available and those on the waitlist will be given the first opportunity to join. We are opening our barn doors with a fantastic, new curriculum that dives deeper than just sitting on a horse. Each lesson will be geared towards learning new skills and improving current ones. We also have a monthly group lesson that allows us to answer any questions from throughout the month, give progress reports, and learn all about horsemanship. Our lessons are for ages 4-17.

This is why we hose our horses off during the hottest parts of the day! To anyone who drove by today and saw me in flip flops and a dress chasing horses with a water hose, mind ya business 😂😂😂

Prayers for our sweet Cowboy please! He choked pretty badly tonight and is awaiting a very life altering diagnosis next week. Until then he gets some antibiotics, love, and lots of treats.

Please everyone keep our Cricket in your prayers. She's the reason we're called Cricket Hollow, she's my whole world, and she's just been diagnosed with lymphoma. They're giving her a few weeks to live. We are bringing her home for end of life care until she tells me she's done.

Hello everyone! We are going through a COMPLETE REHAUL of the program. Our rehaul includes our farm now following the proven HorseSense Learning Levels curriculum and we are VERY excited to start teaching it! The program will now be tuition-based with lesson fees due on the first of each month. Tuition covers 4, 8, or 12 private lessons and 1 group lesson per month.

We will be starting our interviews and intruductory lessons through May and our roster lessons will begin June 1. *Current students who have been with us prior to now DO NOT have to go through the interview and introductory lesson*

To sign up for an interview and introductory lesson please visit https://form.jotform.com/crickethollowequine/lesson-registration-2022

This is a great guideline for those who show 🥰

Too good not to share!

1. Horses don’t get broke at home. Be brave and enter!

2. EVERY disappointment at the show is a learning opportunity..... Be humble, be open to change.

3. Everyone gets nervous. Everyone has bad days. Everyone makes mistakes. Literally: EVERYONE!

4. Don’t watch others in the warmup ring and start changing what you have been doing - if you see something cool or you want to step up your game that’s homework for after the show!

5. When we run out of knowledge, we often punish our horses. Seek help instead.

6. Be a competitor! But be a horseman first. There is always someone watching who sees you as a role model.

7. Supporting your fellow competitors and engaging with people will enrich your show life.

8. Know the rules of competition! Make sure your attire and tack is legal. Read the rule book, ask questions and be well prepared.

9. Have FUN, don’t sweat the small stuff!

To help maintain a long leg that is grounded to the earth...

Imagine there are magnets on the soles of your boots that are attracted to the earth. The strength of this vertical line of positive tension gives the horse a place from which to balance.—Beth Baumert

For those that don't know yet, I'm in the process of getting weight loss surgery. I will try to schedule my visits on my days off, but after surgery I will be taking at least 2 weeks off to allow myself to heal.

Hello everyone! We have recently updated our policies. Take a look at them and let us know if you have any questions! 😊 These are the policies currently in effect. Please note it is the rider's responsibility to keep up with their lessons!

Farm Rules

All gates and stall doors must be kept closed.

No entry into the feed/tack storage areas without permission.

No entry into the pastures without permission.

No climbing, sitting, or standing on stall doors, fences, or gates.

Smoking, consumption of alcoholic beverages or use of drugs is strictly prohibited.

You are responsible for all guests you bring to the farm.

No running or roughhousing around the horses.

Trash must be properly disposed of into provided barrels and/or bins.

All minors MUST wear a helmet while mounted.

Riders must have their own helmet by lesson 5 and a pair of cowboy boots by lesson 9.

Payment & Cancellations

Payments for lessons are due upon reservation of a time slot. If payment is not made the time slot will not be reserved and the time slot may be given to another rider.
Payments for show fees are due on the 1st of the month before the show.
Camp deposits are due at the time of sign-up. Full payments for camps are due one week before the camp start date. Deposits are non-refundable.

Any student cancellations that occur within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson time will incur a $10 cancellation fee to be paid BEFORE the next scheduled lesson. Any unpaid cancellation fees will result in a hold on any future lessons. If a student cancels inside of the 24 hour window 3 times or more the instructor reserves the right to drop the student from the lesson roster completely. A no-call/no-show will automatically drop the student from the lesson roster. If the rider has not arrived by 15 minutes after the lesson start time that day's lesson will be cancelled.

Lessons are held regardless of weather. In-barn lessons may be held on days riding is not an option and are still a very important part of our program. The only weather types that may cause a cancellation are: lightning, iced roads.

If you decide to cancel your lessons due to weather you must do so before the 24 hour window otherwise the $10 cancellation fee will still apply.

Inclement weather stated above, horse injuries, emergencies, and instructor cancellations will not result in a cancellation fee.

We had a very productive and emotional day today. Sweet miss Fran gave flowers for Clovers grave and drew us some pictures. We all had a good cry before lessons started. We always hang up any pictures our lesson kids draw, so her sweet drawings were hung up in the tack room alongside the rest. 💕 We love our students to the moon and back and appreciate them so very much.

❄️ Weather Updates for Friday the 21st ❄️
We are watching this winter weather carefully as is progresses. The snow, freezing temperatures, and absence of salt on the roads are all impacting our decisions for lessons these next few days.

As of 7pm on 1-20-2022 lessons are still on. If this changes we will be messaging everyone to make them aware.

If we still have lessons and you do not feel comfortable driving in the snow PLEASE let me know as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.
