Little Hooves Romneys is a multi-generational family farm that strives to raise the highest quality lamb possible. We are strategically located between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New York City with easy access to most major highways. This general locale enables us to serve a diverse group of clientele that chooses to know where their food products come from and expect nothing less than honesty

and accountability. Currently we have 150 head of breeding ewes, rams and replacement stock, grow crops and hay on approximately 250 acres and do rotational pasture management on another 50 acres. Our farm practice is humane and healthy based on our own personal code of ethics. Environmental changes and the impact of poor management skills can be devastating to our ecological future, keeping these thoughts in mind, we do everything possible to keep our carbon footprints small for future generations. The lamb that we offer to you is the same lamb that our family has enjoyed for years.

A little late in posting but Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival last weekend was a great time as always. Much laughter with good friends. We had Reserve Champion White Romney Ram, Reserve Champion NC Romney Ram and Champion NC Romney Ewe who also had Best Fleece. This beautiful ewe lamb was also pulled out in the top five for consideration in the Supreme Ewe drive. Also received Premier NC Romney Exhibitor Award. Many thanks to all the folks who put this show together ! See you next year.

What do a bunch of sheep folks do after trimming and showing sheep all day? Of course we head to a local diner to relax and fill our guts….to talk, reminisce and laugh about our day. And tomorrow we’re going to do it all over again.

Always Nice to Get Back Home Again!

Just returned from a great week at Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. It was wet and cold but was so nice to see and chat with old and new friends. I have virtually no pictures of our Romneys but did get a few pictures of the granddaughters with their NC Lincolns and NC Border Leicesters. I had great plans to try to get all the Romney breeders together for a little social time but with the poor weather conditions and the business of the show, it just never happened. We were very pleased with the weekend and very proud of our NC Romney Ewe Champion and honored to have received the Premier Exhibitor award for both the White and NC Romneys. The yearling ewes were happy to get home and back out on pasture.

First day of Farm Camp and we’re off to a great start! Picking out their individual lambs and let the halter breaking begin ❤️

Little Hooves Making Big Tracks

On a more personal note... we are farmers 24/7 plus I work off the farm as a nurse. Working the night shift in ICU has enabled Little Hooves to travel to shows promoting our livestock and wool products and to participate in Farmer’s Markets selling lamb for your table. We enjoy educating the public on crop and livestock production. The buyers of today want to know where their food comes from and are often times so far removed from agriculture, that we may quite possibly be the only hands on opportunity available to them. We also have machine washable pelts, yarn, blankets, and raw fleece available for purchase. If you are a spinner or crafter, it may be of interest, that all wool is labeled with the sheep’s name that it was sheared from and any special awards it may have received, so that any project can be connected to its place of origin. We’ve had many National Champions and are very proud of these accomplishments.

In addition to livestock and crop production with niche markets of meat and wool products, our future plans include venturing into agritourism. In the somewhat near future, we will be adding a lamb camp for kids and guided farm tours, who knows where that will lead us.
