Not every behavior needs to be “fixed” — many just need to be understood. 🐾

A lot of the things puppies and dogs do that feel frustrating (like barking, chewing, or pulling) are actually normal and natural. They just haven’t been taught what to do instead yet!

Here’s what we mean:
🔸 Chewing often means your pup is teething or bored — not trying to destroy things on purpose.
🔸 Barking is communication, not defiance. Let’s figure out what they’re trying to say.
🔸 Accidents? That’s a sign your dog may still be learning or needs a more consistent routine.
🔸 Leash pulling just means they’ve never learned how to walk politely — and we can teach that!

Quick fixes or harsh methods may suppress behavior temporarily, but they won’t solve the why. And hiring someone who doesn’t address the root cause? That can cost more in the long run — both financially and emotionally.

🛑 Wait at the door – Teach your pup that rushing out isn’t the way to get what they want.
🍽️ Wait for meals – Build patience with a short pause before feeding.
🐾 Leave it – Help your dog make better choices, even when temptation is right in front of them.
🦴 Give & take – Prevent guarding by teaching trades with high-value items.
🪑 Place – Use a bed or mat to encourage calm during distractions.

Socialization isn’t just about meeting other dogs — it’s about helping your puppy become confident in all parts of life. 🐾 The early months are a critical window where gentle, positive exposure to different people, sounds, surfaces, and everyday experiences builds the foundation for a well-rounded adult dog.

Introducing your pup to kids, adults wearing hats or sunglasses, and people using canes helps them feel comfortable around all kinds of humans. Sounds like the vacuum, doorbell, or passing traffic can be scary if introduced too late, so start early using recordings or controlled exposure.

Different surfaces — from soft carpet to rough concrete or grass — teach your puppy to be steady on their feet anywhere they go. Experiences like happy vet visits, car rides, and meeting vaccinated, friendly dogs help your pup learn that the world is a fun and safe place.
