Just Because - 12.2, huge bodied, Welsh Pony, 15yo Mare - qualified for PF 2025, minimal prep, kick ride, brave, good lead change, excellent jumper. L or S

Verano - 17.0, Dutch WB Gelding - he has been everywhere and done everything. Can teach your mom to WTC and jump or go horse show. Currently looking for a 2’6” and under job. Very safe, not spooky, sweet in the barn! L or S

Cheerio - 12.2, 5yo, Palomino Welsh Pony Gelding - Small Green Pony for 2025, excellent mover and jumper, swaps his leads, brave to the jumps. Going to be a top contender for 2025. He has been to all the horse shows to ticket and walks out of his stall to the ring. Available this fall. S only

Matinee - 14.1 1/2, 7yo, German Riding Pony Gelding - just came back from a successful Pony Finals with ribbons overall, o/f and in the model. He was 21st in the hack as well. Great mover/jumper, good changes, jumps around any ring. Beautiful and already qualified for 2025 PF, he’s been showing in the regulars all season so also has points towards Devon. S only.

Just Enuff - 12.1, 14yo, Welsh Pony Gelding - wt to xrails superstar. Auto change, quiet and adorable. L only.

Today we said goodbye to one of the greatest, Woodlands Troubadour aka Trooper. He lived to a wonderful 32 years old, and what a life he had!!

Trooper came to the farm with the help of Cricket about 15 years ago. I think she was happy to pass him along at the time. He was the pony who would jump out of the round pen or his stall, sn**ch a hot dog out of a kids hand and maybe not jump a jump (sometimes simply because he felt a course should have 8 jumps and not 9).

He quickly became a barn favorite and blessed us with years of memories, laughs, tears, ribbons and success! Trooper was a character with a huge personality! He always kept you on your toes and definitely got better with age! He would eat anything and everything; he was frequently called the ‘trash can’. If you needed a ride, Trooper was your guy. And to top it all off he had the BEST canter!

Delaney was his first rider. In their time together they won 2010 PHJA Pony Medal finals, had numerous tricolors in the Pony Hunters and too many hack wins to count. In true Trooper fashion though, he had a streak where he would trot the third jump of every course (including Pony Finals). Looking back, it’s funny, because that was just Trooper sometimes.

In 2013 we made him a promise. If he got a hack ribbon at Pony Finals, he could retire from the Large Pony Division. He promptly took us up on that, finishing 9th that year with his next rider, Emily Alvarez (this was before top 20 was given out in all phases)!

He had many other riders as well. Megan, Allie, Helen, Regan, Lauren and Antoinette, just to name a few. Feel free to share your favorite stories or photos below.

Thank you Trooper for the many years of happiness you blessed us all with. You will always have a special place in our hearts. We will miss you, “Troopy Doo” ❤️

3. Howie Do It - 12.2, ‘04, Welsh X Gelding - the ultimate first small pony hunter. He has been 5th overall at PF twice and ribboned o/f the last two years. 4th o/f at Devon, been to indoors and always reliable. SS on up. (L Only, available 11/25/23)

4. Arkady - 13.1 3/4, ‘06 Welsh X Gelding - super pony to take a kid xrails to division. Ribbons his green year at pony finals, has taken first time competitors ever since. Reliable, auto change, always jumps. Good mover. Perfect short stirrup or children’s pony as well. Confidence Booster. (L Only)

5. Teachers Pet - 13.2 (big bodied), ‘08, Reg. Welsh Pony Gelding - tons of miles in ss, he has been a first division pony for his last two kids. Auto change, brave to the jumps, 21st in the hack at ‘23 PF in the regular mediums. Excellent Jumper. (S preferred - available 11/1/23)

6. Exuberance - 13.2 (big bodied), ‘06 German Riding Pony Gelding - lots and lots of miles and ribbons from pony finals to indoors. Never spooky, could do ss to division. Good mover with an easy lead change. Has taught siblings to wtc. Super pony to have in the barn. (L preferred, available 12/5/23)

7. Bel Air - 13.2, ‘10 Welsh Pony Gelding - hack winner (including Harrisburg and CC in 2022) and model winner, reliable, takes a joke and always jumps. Easy changes. This is the division medium everyone wants. Tons of miles ss to division, Devon, indoors, pf ribbons. Tons of points towards Devon ‘24. Available after Indoors.

8. Verano - 17.0, ‘07, Dutch WB Gelding - can take any rider 2’6”-3’3” - big record, currently showing in the 3’3” juniors and derbies. Safe enough for a novice rider, brave, good lead change and can cross over to the equitation. Available 10/15/23

9. Vurtual - 16.1, ‘09 Hanoverian Gelding - the perfect 2’-3’ horse. Hack winner, uphill, kick ride, auto change. (Currently on trial)

Pony Finals 2023

We love Kentucky and we always have a blast at the KY Horse Park! Thanks to everyone who helped at home and on the road! The parents for their support and congratulations to our riders on a great horse show!

*Bel Air and Mary Kate finished 8th in the u/s, 12th in model and 33rd overall in the medium ponies!

*Rockaway and Maddy finished 4th o/f and 14th overall in the large ponies!

*Orchard Hills Secret Treasure and Natalie finished 17th over fences in the large green ponies.

*So Charming and Cesalie finished 21st in the u/s and 48th overall in the small ponies!

*Arkady and Maggie put in a great o/f round in the mediums and the Pony Medal final. Maggie did the division and rode Sly for the first time in May, congrats on a great first pony finals!

*Ontario and MK competed in the large ponies and pony medal finals, they had great scores in the hack and model, one lead issue in the o/f, but overall a super fun experience!

*Kingsman and Linen reconnected for the week! He modeled great, hacked well and jumped around in the large ponies! It was great to have Linen back in the hunter ring for the week!

While in KY, we also got to cheer on all our past sale grads or leased ponies!! Congrats to their riders, owners and trainers on a successful Pony Finals! Howie Do It was 11th o/f in the smalls, Teachers Pet was 21st in the medium pony hack, Exuberance had a great o/f trip in the mediums and medal (making the first call back in the medal final), Vanderbilt was 3rd in the medium green pony model and Just Because was absolutely adorable with Emilia in the small greens!

The team had a great two weeks at WEC Ocala both riding and “vacationing”! Thanks to everyone at home and the show for all the help! The horses and ponies were excellent!

Bel Air and Mary Kate won the hack both weeks, the conformation class week one, 3 o/f classes week 2 and Champion in the Medium Ponies! 2nd in the WIHS Pony Eq and 3rd in the Pony Classic out of 20+ with an 84 in round one.

Rockaway and Maddy were Large Pony Champions week 1 and pony classic winners with an 85 in round 2.

Breaking News and Natalie moved up to the 3’3” Juniors earning the championship week 1, they also scored an 80 both weeks in the classic.

Memphis and Cesalie won the small pony handy round week one and 2nd in the conformation class. Week 2, they were 3rd in the conformation class and 4th in the pony medal out of 18!

Oliver Twist and Abbey were 2nd in the large pony hack both weeks, they also had ribbons in the wihs pony Eq and a 5th in the large pony handy class. Week 2, they were 13th in the pony derby!

Ontario and Mary Kate WON the USHJA Pony Derby week 2 after a 6th place finish week 1! They also won a large pony class week one with an 84 which helped them to finish 2nd in the classic! Week 2, they were 2nd in two large pony classes and 8th in the classic.

Weatherstone and Maddy competed in the 15-17 Equitation both weeks, Reserve Champion week 1, Champion week 2. They also won the NHS and USEF Medals week 1 and 2nd/4th in the Maclay! This officially qualifies them for all the finals in the fall!

So Charming and Cesalie were 7th in the Pony Classic week 1, 10th in the Pony Derby! They were 2nd and 3rd in several classes both weeks in great company! Together they put in some of their best rounds together thus far!

Nuff Said and Maddy were Reserve Champions both weeks in the Juniors! They won 3 classes week 2, 2nd in the classic week 1, 4th in the classic week 2 with an 86 in round 1. On Friday they also competed in the USHJA Jr/Am Derby to finish 6th!

Orchard Hills Secret Treasure and Natalie had their best shows together. Lil’ T was a star in the Pony Derbies, scoring an 81 week 1 (unfortunate rail in round 2) and finishing 7th week 2! They also won a class in the large greens and finished 2nd in the Green Pony Classic.

Stella Blue and Cesalie competed in the small ponies both weeks! They picked up ribbons along the way including a 6th in the pony medal out of 18 and 2nd/4th in the u/s classes. They also learned a lot along the way!

Collectible came along to continue his education! He was just adorable both weeks, jumping right around any ring he walked into to school! Looking forward to his future in the green ponies in 2024!

The team spent Monday at Discovery Cove!! We went swimming with Dolphins, snorkeling in the grand reef, with all kinds of fish and stingrays, and had a relaxing float down the lazy river! We had to split up for the rest since everyone had different amounts of free time. BUT, when in Orlando…. you have to go to Disney! Maddy’s first experience, so we hit the highlights in the evening and rode the new Tron rollercoaster!

💙Devon 2023💙

We had a great time in PA, nobody wanted to leave! Ponies, Horses, Shopping and Friends! The girls rode great! We took 7 horses, which equaled long days! Thank You William and Elle for the help, we couldn’t do it without you. For Mary Kate, Cesalie and Abbey this was their first time at Devon. They each had at least one great trip o/f, So Charming finished 7th in the hack in the smalls with Ces. Maddy had attended last year with Rockaway, but she competed in the equitation for the first time this year. She put in two excellent rounds with Weatherstone in the Maclay and Dover Medals. ‘Nemo’ scored an 88 to finish 5th o/f and was also 5th u/s in the large ponies. We wrapped up the weekend with pony hunt teams, “101 Dalmatians” and “LILO and Stitch” each finished 2nd in their divisions! We have lots of great photos, so decided to share a few of our favorites!!

We love spending time at the World Equestrian Center. Perfect weather, happy horses, good competition, friendly staff and great time spent with friends! 🏆 Arkady and Emma - Champion Week 9 in the Mediums, winners of the WIHS Pony Medal, 4th and 5th in the Pony Derbies, 5th and 8th in the Pony Classics!

🏆 Oliver Twist and Abbey - Hack Winners both weeks in the large ponies, top ribbons in the WIHS and USEF pony medal, qualifying them for Medal Finals.

🏆 Rockaway and Maddy - 7th in the Pony Classic and Pony Derby out of 21+, ribbons in the Large Ponies. They only showed week 10.

🏆 Breaking News and Natalie - 4th of 19 in the Children’s Classic, top ribbons in the younger children’s and 2nd in both 12-14 equitation classes week 9. Maddy rode Winston week 10 and together they were 2nd in the Dover, 3rd in the Maclay and 6th in the USHJA Jump Seat Medal!

🏆 With Regard and Caitlin - Winners of the THIS Children’s medal week 9, 2nd in two older children’s classes week 9 and 6th in the classic week 10. They had scores in the 80s in the classic both weeks!

🏆 Vanderbilt and Emma - Reserve Champion week 9 in the Non-Pro Hunters out of 15, class winner in the regular mediums week 10! With Maddy, he also won a small/medium green pony class!

🏆 Orchard Hills Golden Dragon and Natalie - Champion Non-Pro Hunters week 9, including 2 class wins!

🏆 Nuff Said and Maddy - Champion and Classic Winner in the Small 3’3” Juniors week 10. With Ivy Lampert week 9 they were 2nd in the children’s classic with an 84 and won an o/f class. Thanks Ivy for stepping in while Maddy was in Ocala!

🏆 So Charming had a clean sweep with Corri Janiak week 9 in the smalls, they were also 3rd in the derby and 6th in the classic! Week 10, Elizabeth Walters took the ride with 3 class wins and Reserve Champion in the smalls! Thank you Elizabeth and Corri for all your help while Cesalie’s ankle healed!

🏆 Collectible - Champion again in the Future Hunters with Jenn Schwartz week 9. Week 10 he had great ribbons out of 24! Thanks Jenn for pony squishing for us!

🏆 Just Because - Reserve Champion in the small/medium green ponies both weeks! Ivy and Abbey had the rides, she was also Reserve Champion in the small regulars week 9 with Corri!

🏆 Ontario and MK - 3rd Pony Classic week 10 with an 83.5, 7th week 9 and ribbons in the larges both weeks.

🏆Stand By Me and Linen - Reserve Champion Children’s Jumpers week 9 with a win in the speed round and 2nd in the classic! Week 10 they finished 2nd in the speed round. Thanks Teri and Darby for letting us lease Stan for the 2 weeks!

2022!! Not even sure where to begin, but it was a great season!! Every year we have a party, to celebrate our season. We have to be going on year 15 of the “gold” awards (aka reminders of all the silly things that have happened throughout the year, emphasized). If we had photos of all the things that have been created over the years it would be amazing, but we often get wrapped up in the evening and forget. Congrats to Caitlin on “most improved” and Emma on “best sportsmanship”.

Thank You to everyone of the barn families for the wonderful gift as well! We are looking forward to more fun in 2023!

We had a great time at PA National Horse Show and the Washington International Horse Show! The girls brought home some ribbons, Maddy won the Claire Mawsdley Scholarship for the 2nd year in a row with Hank and we welcomed a few new ponies, which will require another post!

It’s Kelsey’s Birthday!! She’s really getting spoiled at this WEC hotel this week, along with multiple cakes. Seems to be the tradition now, a celebration for a few days vs one. Thanks for all you do in riding and preparing the horses and ponies for the kids and driving us all over! When not riding the horses, she is typically helping with some homework, giving advice on a social problem from school or just organizing the barn during lessons. Hope you enjoyed you special week 🎉

Our last two weekends in Tryon for 2022 season! The first week was small due to the hurricane threatening to bring us lots of rain, but it turned off to the east and the girls made it worth the trip!

Meanwhile at Capital Challenge, Maddy competed in the jump seat medal finals putting in some great rounds. She also finished 6th o/f in the age group equitation!

Kentucky and Pony Finals 2022

Like I said, I’m a bit behind, but still too important not to post! Kentucky is one of my favorite shows of the year! It maybe hectic, but I thoroughly enjoy every minute of the two weeks! Traditions to uphold, Keeneland…. Memories to be made - there is always a good RV story! We even brought Polo back this year which was ! We also get to spend time with friends from all over and met the cutest puppy named Henry! Thank You to everyone who helped! William, Omar, Delaney and Isabel, along with our fabulous barn family!

PONY FINALS

⭐️Rockaway and Maddy finished 4th overall in the large ponies, 9th u/s, 8th o/f.

⭐️Covenant Royal Secret and Caitlin finished 9th overall in the Large Green Ponies, 7th o/f, 18th in the model, Reserve Champion Welsh Pony, Champion VPBA.

⭐️Just Enuff and Charlotte finished 12th in the small pony model

⭐️Oliver Twist and Abbey 16th in the large pony u/s

⭐️Kingsman and Sarah Rabb for Linen - 18th Large Pony Model

⭐️Linen leased a jumper for the week. And although that didn’t go as planned, she had so much fun being a part of the team and helping cheer them on! Zone 3 won the championship!

The following riders also had great pony finals, a minor o/f error left them out of the ribbons, but all went in in great standings after the model and hack. A few in their PF debuts as well!

KENTUCKY SUMMER II

🏆Closing Time and Elle closed out their time together before Elle headed to college with a 2,3,6 in the 3’3” older juniors.

🏆Breaking News and Natalie finished 7,7,8 out of 40 Younger Childrens Hunters.

🏆Carricon and Ava put in some good trips in the younger 3’3” juniors.

🏆Rockaway and Maddy were 2nd and 5th of 38 in the larges.

🏆Covenant Royal Secret and Caitlin finished 7th in a large ushja division.

🏆Just Enuff and Lily were 8th in the small pony hack and put in great trips in the small. Thanks Lily for stepping in to ride Marco.

🏆Long Story Short and Cesalie earned ribbons in the small childrens ponies including two seconds.

🏆Vanderbilt and Emma finished 6th in a couple medium childrens pony classes. Maddy rode Vinny to 3rd and 5th out of 70+ in the ushja 2’3”.

🏆Rollingwoods California Cookie and Cesalie were 7th in a small pony class.

🏆Sugarbroook Too Blue and Oliver Twist made it to the second round of the hack for Emma and Abbey!

🏆Teachers Pet and MK along with Claire and First P*k put in some good trips just out of the ribbons.

A little behind on the updates from the start of our fall horse shows! We attended Sedgefield at the Park over Labor Day and then a week at the Aiken Fall Festival! We had a great time at both shows, even met a Monkey! The ponies and horses were refreshed after a few weeks off of showing! Congratulations to our team.

Teachers Pet and Mary Kate qualified for Pony Finals after earning a 2nd in every class of the medium ponies at sedgefield!

Nuff Said and Maddy were Champions and 2nd in the Classic at sedgefield and won a class in a very competitive small 3’3” junior hunter division in Aiken.

Long Story Short and Cesalie won two classes at both horse shows! At Sedgefield they were Reserve Champion in the childrens ponies. In Aiken they were Reserve Champions in the small ponies qualifying for Pony Finals! Cesalie also showed in the 11/U Eq in Aiken and was 2nd in both classes.

Breaking News and Natalie continue to make improvements! They earned great ribbons at Sedgefield in the younger childrens and in Aiken earned two seconds and 8th in the Classic out of 20+!

Hashtag and Linen competed in the SC Gov Cup Finals in Aiken, they finished 9th and also had ribbons in the 3’3” juniors.

Rollingwoods California Cookie and Cesalie earned great ribbons in the smalls at both shows, with a top finish in the handy both times!

Vanderbilt and Emma won the childrens pony Eq and another o/f class in the childrens ponies in Aiken! The pair is ready to take on the green ponies in 2023.

Caldiano and Ava made their debut in Aiken. They earned blues in both modified jr classes on Friday along with ribbons in the juniors.

Alphabet Soup and Cate won two xrail classes, it was their final show together and Cate made it count!

Rockaway and Maddy finished Reserve Champion in the Large Ponies out of 11, they won two classes and finished 2nd in the classic out of 20+ ponies in Aiken.

Carricon and Ava may have had their best show ever, she won a 3’3” large class out of 12 and finished 7th in a giant classic.

Short Stack and Cate made their show debut together in Aiken. They finished 2nd o/f in one crossrail class.

Couldn’t end the day today without wishing Kerin a Happy Birthday!

The team leader who wears more ‘hats’ than I can probably even list. Our teacher, planner, organizer, expert horse and pony finder, staff organizer, entry keeper, bookkeeper, and so many things in between that don’t even have a title. She patiently and fully answers the many texts and phone calls she gets daily (it would be too many for me 😂), helps us all reach our many different goals, cares for each horse and pony as if it was her own and is always looking for ways to help the kids succeed in their riding and life in general through all the ups and downs. Thank you for all you do to keep us all sane, streamlined and successful, for your kindness and knowledge and for always planning fun group events for us to do! Hope you had a great day! 🎉🎈🎉

Another day and another one turns 16!! Wishing the happiest of birthdays to the always smiling, loves to chat, friendly, hard working, pony loving, stick with it kid. Her and Oliver have really grown so much this year together as a team and we can’t wait to see where the next one brings them. We hope you have the best day today! 🎉
