Headed out to pasture at the end of a long day!
Their work is done for the day! πͺ
After wagon rides, our Percheron horses that pull the wagons are unharnessed and hosed off in the wash bay. Dont worry, they still have plenty of energy to put on a show when being turned out to pasture for the night! This video features Jane (and her work partner, Bob, waiting for her at the end!) π΄

Sulcata or Spur-thighed tortoises can grow to be up to 70-100 pounds and have shell length up to 20 inches. They arenβt fully grown until around 15-20 years old. These tortoises are a few of the animals we have in the walk thru area that need to be moved to the heated barn in the winter. They should be coming out soon for the season.
Are you on spring break this week? Come visit us for an enjoyable time! We are open regular hours all week and have wagons each day.

Our draft horses are shod about every 4-6 weeks during busy season. These horse shoeing stocks are the safest method of shoeing the horses. They are built with the comfort and safety of both the horses and people in mind! Ted has enjoyed his winter break but itβs time to get back to work!
After tomorrowβs rain the weather will clear up for another beautiful weekend! Come feed the animals!
Today was another spa day for our Percheron Draft Horses. They are getting βbeach bodyβ ready for the season with new hair cuts, wormed and vaccinated, and new shoes. (More videos of that to come!) We are expecting another beautiful February weekend. Come visit the animals!
The last animals to return to the park after the round up are the Fallow and Axis Deer. Using our deer chute, the deer are vaccinated and wormed. Also while in the chute, we take inventory of each tag number, tag new fawns, and administer a TB skin test. The deer must stay in the barn for 72 hours for the test to be read. After that time frame, our veterinarian checks for results and then they are cleared to come back to the park!
Try and count the number of fallow deer coming off the trailer below!
We are fully open for the season now. With the nice weather the next few days we are already booking wagon rides for Friday-Monday! (Presidents Day) just call ahead to book- 704-663-5100
