Shelter Pet of the Week 🐶

Meet Choppy, Chopper, Mr. Chop man. This guy is so great. He’s all the incredible things about the cattle dog breed, energetic, a quick learner, active, loyal, friendly, and loves his people! Once he gets to the yard he’s pretty chill in terms of cattle dogs, and has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite. He would love to go home to someone who understands that he likes to work his brain a bit, and in return he gives you all the love!

Shelter Pet of the Week:

🐾Stephanie: heavily discounted adoption fee! long term resident alert! over 400 days with Lake Norman Humane! 5 years old, boxer mix, spayed, very trainable and knows commands, great in a home, loved by everyone!

🐾Stephanie girl is a favorite of so many staff and volunteers. She’s very easy to train and listens well, she does incredible in a home environment too! She has been in a couple fosters and they have had nothing but good things to say about her. She fits in easily and adjusts well, loves to lay around on the couch or her bed, listens to commands and loves to go on hikes or walks with her people.

✍️ Her previous foster mom says “Miss Stephanie is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met! She loves going on long walks, sitting on my balcony and watching the leaves fall, and she absolutely loves a good cuddle.☺️”

✍️ Another volunteer says “Stephanie can come on a little strong but is very sweet when she is out of the kennel. She is very sweet and extremely trainable. She can maintain a ‘stay’ command with distractions and distance, and picks up new behaviors quickly. She loves people and she loves dogs and would be a fantastic running/hiking partner or for someone who loves to train dogs for things like agility or other games.“

🌎 So it sounds like she is the best of both worlds!

Shelter Pet of the Week- Angelo ❤️
Another great way to stay warm with it getting cold? Staying active! And Angelo can help you with the that. The week of Thanksgiving, Lake Norman Humane will be $100 off adoptions. Angelo also has training that comes with his adoptions that was generously donated!

Angelo shows you just how incredible and awe inspiring the working breed can be. We believe he’s a Malinois mix and he is smart as a whip. This boy can learn a trick in about two seconds and will listen to a command like no other. He LOVES to work. He needs someone who understands this and will give him the proper training and time, as long as he has that he will be your best friend. Don’t think just because he loves to work he doesn’t love love too.

He loves to come show you his toy and get some head scratches and roll over to show you his belly.

He is available for adoption. Come meet him and just fall in love (our social media manager thinks he’s super stinking cool and sweet if you can’t tell). Lake Norman Humane is for walk in tours and meet and greets from 12-5:30 Tuesday through Fridays 12-3;30 Saturdays! Come on by

Beethoven: !

November is Adopt a Senior Pet month and we have the perfect guy for you! Meet Beethoven. He is chill, laid back, easy going and calm. He is so dearly loved by his foster dad and is the perfect companion for someone who enjoys to take life slow!

🎵Knows a handful of commands (you can teach an old dog new tricks 😉)
🎵Walks well on a leash
🎵He has done well in a home and hasn’t had many accidents!
🎵Does well with other dogs and all sorts of different people
🎵He has such a fun spunky personality! You wouldn’t know he’s 10 the way he gets so excited when he sees the people he loves!

Beethoven is a 10 year old St. Bernard mix. He is available for adoption and is looking for a home where he can take all his daily naps and someone who will give him all the love he deserves, and he’ll give it right back! We want to give a huge thanks to everyone that dropped off a donation for Hurricane Helene relief. We will be taking a large donation to the western part of our state on Saturday and will continue to collect donations for the next few weeks. Thank you 💙

Shelter pet of the week…. Meet Fido!! 💙

Fido: husky mix, 1.5 years old, 65 lbs, neutered
❣️gets along well with others
❣️loves nap time
❣️great on leash and loves hiking/running
❣️rescued from WNC shelter in need during Hurricane Helene

If you are a husky lover, looking for the definition of man’s best friend, or looking for an adventure companion, Fido is the guy for you!
This active boy loves hiking, swimming in the lake, and playing fetch. He also has a nice off switch and will gladly curl up on the couch next to you to nap.
His foster mom takes him to work with her and he stays quiet in his crate throughout the day. Fido would do best in a home with submissive dogs or dogs that match his play style as he can be a bit much at times. He is housebroken and knows sit, down, and paw. He aims to please and is quick to learn any command.

Hey everyone! We have partnered up with and Hurricane Helene Airlift Relief in taking donations for Western NC. Hurricane Helen has displaced so many people and animals, many of whom are still without power and struggling to find resources. We hope to help by getting these donations to them to begin the healing process.

Shelter Pet of The Week… Meet Dorothy! 🩷

Dorothy’s sweet puppy face isn’t the only puppy thing about her.

🎈She has the heart and soul of a puppy.
🎈She loves to play with others, pups and humans!
🎈She is laid back and relaxed in a home but still enjoys to run around and play to match someone else’s energy.
🎈She does well on a leash, she does need some training when it comes to seeing squirrels or things that excite her, but other than that she’s a good walking buddy!
🎈she is 4 years old, so even with her puppy heart, she has the manners and attitude of an adult dog! Best of both worlds!

Come by to meet sweet Dottie and give her her forever home!
