Raccoon Tests Positive For Rabies Near Waterlynn Rd In Mooresville:

Iredell County Animal Services & Control has confirmed a case of rabies. This case involved a raccoon that tested positive for rabies in the area of Regal Circle off of Waterlynn Rd. Please avoid contact with all wild or stray animals. Pets or stray animals with suspected exposure to rabies should be reported to Iredell County Animal Services and Control at (704) 878-5335

Many pets might experience great anxiety because of sights and sounds associated with fireworks.

Here are a few tips that might help you and your entire family have a happier 4th of July, and enjoy your celebration even more.

• Secure pets inside. Scared pets have a tendency to bolt. Even well fenced yards may not contain a startled animal.
• Provide a safe space. Provide a safe zone inside your house. A quiet room, crate or bed may provide just what they need to ride out the noise.
