Harrison x Poppy puppies has their first vet appointment today. They all got a clean bill of health and were found to be very healthy! The staff of the vet really enjoyed the visit!

Harrison x Poppy puppies turned 6 weeks old today! I took some head shots this evening to mark the occasion. They’re really good babies! Collar color is printed on each head shot.

Harrison x Poppy puppies played outdoors for the first time today. It was beautiful today and for the first time in a while was not raining or blistering hot. They ate lunch outside and then played for about 45 minutes. They tired quickly with all the new sights and sounds and by the time I carried each one indoors to their air conditioned pen they went quickly to sleep for a long afternoon nap.

The gang turned 5 weeks old today. There is more p**p than I ever thought possible. The cuteness almost makes up for it. Ok it doesn’t, but they’re still cute as the dickens!

Sorry for the lack of pics the past two days. I have a dog recovering from eye surgery and her adjusting to wearing a cone 24/7 has kept me busy. In addition to the puppies antics I barely have time to catch my breath. Todays new skill was to use their watering system as a pool. If it can create a mess they’re all for it!

HARRISON X POPPY:
Today was a big day!! We turned four weeks old today, had our second de-worming medicine (surprisingly we really love the taste)! We graduated from saucer pan feeders to big-time individual food bowls! We picked it up pretty quickly. Funny thing, we don’t see our Mom Poppy too much anymore. Might be coincidence but once our teeth popped through the gums Mom said peace out. She likes to come in before bed while we’re having our bedtime story. We think she is very jealous of the attention Dalton gets.

Dalton read to the pups again tonight. They’re getting a little exuberant. I think by the end of the week he’ll need to read the bedtime story from outside the pen.

I didn’t take a whole lot of pictures today because I didn’t get much sleep last night and I am very tired. Here’s a couple pics. The puppies are really enjoying their solid food three times a day.

Harrison x Poppy babies today started on solid food (gruel). It was a huge success! I also worked with them trying to teach them to drink from the water boys. They’re doing good peeing on the potty trays but p**p misses the mark just a little. They need to learn not to sleep on the potty trays. It was a big day and a lot of hard work for me. They did not appreciate when the human with the warm, wet washcloth washed us and dried us with a towel, but we did like when she wrapped us in the towel, snuggled and kissed our heads.

Harrison x Poppy puppies. Growing up so fast! They’re loving their expanded living quarters. Poppy appreciates the additional space when she goes into nurse. At some point this weekend I will introduce them to puppy gruel, their first taste of solid food.

Harrison x Poppy: 22 days old and oh so fun and cute! I spend large chunks of my time hanging in the pen, cuddling with these darling little creatures. The biggest boy is 3.5 pounds while the smallest girl is 2.7 pounds but they all gain steadily every day. I am so in love with all of them!

Harrison x Poppy puppies are 20 days old. They are starting to play with one another and have found their voices and aren’t afraid to use them! By the end of the week I will expand their living quarters to give them more room to grow and play. Also by the end of this week I will be introducing the squad to their first solid food (although will be a liquidity substance). Exciting times ahead!

Husband and I spent a great deal of the weekend cleaning up our property from storm damage. It has been a busy weekend and I didn’t get much chance to take pics but trust me when I say that the puppies are getting so big! They are starting to play with one another and are oh so cute!
