This day has come. It is officially National Mutt Day! 🥳.

Here are 5 reasons to celebrate:

5. You are saving another dogs life!🥳🥳🥳

Did you know 75% of the dogs that end up in a shelters, humane societies and rescue facilities are mutts? So, according to the ASPCA statistics 1.2 million dogs are euthanized each year, which means 900,000 are mutts.😭

PLEASE consider adopting a mutt from one of our awesome partners and as always and quoting our biggest spay/neuter champion, the late Bob Barker, “Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered.” 🐶🐱❤️

Losing a loved companion is so devastating. Help find this missing cat!

The highest point of achievement for a nonprofit organization should be to work themselves out of a job. Nonprofits address societal inequities and needs in their communities. If we do our job well, we will have solved the animal overpopulation problem and will no longer be needed.

Check out this adorable little nugget that WE R Furr was taking care of at our clinic on Monday, May 6th. Word is that this little Flash is already spoken for.
It is unfortunate that he lost his momma because she was just a kitten herself when she got pregnant.
Mother's Day is almost here and the greatest gift you can give your fur baby is to make sure she never has to worry about this happening to her.

This morning, we attended the 2024 the Philanthropy and Youth (PaY) Spring Celebration at NDSU. These young men and women are an inspiration and bring hope for the future. Investing their time and passion in the nonprofits of this area all with the guidance of The Barry Foundation. Thank you for your hard work.

As many of you know, March is Women's History Month.
In reflecting upon that I am reminded of a quote:

“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.” – Michelle Obama, former First Lady of the United States

As a woman run organization, we experience this every day. With strength and determination, we strive to make a difference in our community and world one dog and cat at a time.

We also share our gratitude to the men in our lives who lift us up and support our endeavors.

Update: We now have our table. Next step is to shine it all up for our surgeries on April 11th.

We are getting a surgical table delivered tomorrow.

We don't know the time yet, but if you think you will be able to help us unload it please comment below or send us a message.

Our bank account is looking 😿 & could use some 💖 & 💸. We have more kittens & cats to fix in April & some that are due for their booster vaccinations again.

We are also running VERY low on our much needed basic supplies.
If you are in a position to help, we are desperate need of wet kitten & cat food, dry kitten & cat food & scoopable cat litter 😬 They do not like our attempts to ration & have resorted to theft. Much bread, butter and dog food has been victim to their little bellies.

One of the reasons why we chose Fur Fixers as our name is because it reads action. Ending pet overpopulation requires a ton of work by EVERYONE to do their part. If you have a pet, fix it before that oops litter. If you are feeding feral cats or dogs understand that it is also your responsibility to spay/neuter them. If you know someone that can’t afford to spay/neuter or doesn’t want to, explain to them the benefits and maybe help them to get it done. We (Red River Fur Fixers) may actually being doing the fur fixing but all of us can be Fur Fixers. Whether it is us getting our pets fixed or rescues fixing their animals before they are adopted or people doing TNR on their neighborhood cats or just educating a family member. Being a FUR FIXER is a movement. Please be a Fur Fixer!

February is Spay/Neuter Awareness Month. With fewer surgeries this month we did see a decline in cat surgeries, but our dog count remained the same.
