We want to wish all Veterinary Technicians a happy Vet Tech week! We especially want to take a moment and recognize our very own technicians. Veterinary clinics would be unable to function without our beloved technicians. Whether it is a spicy kitty, fractious canine, excited equine, wellness exam, nail trim, walk in emergency, new puppy exam or euthanasia our technicians are ready with caring and capable hands. Technicians spend hours thinking of your pets and brainstorming with the doctors on how to best treat them. It is not uncommon for a technician to skip lunch and choose to monitor a patient or spend extra time consoling a client who just received hard news. Veterinary Medicine is not a "leave it at the door" career choice, your pets are on our minds constantly. Technicians spend hours of their own time keeping up on the most up to date education and researching cases. Feeding, grooming, monitoring a patient's condition, diagnostics, physical exams, collecting samples, running lab tests such as blood counts and urinalysis, taking x-rays, administering medications, prepping for surgery, anesthesia, educating owners, client relations and administrative tasks is only a tiny blip into the day of a veterinary technician. Thank you to all veterinary technicians, you are SO appreciated!
