EXCUSE ME MA’AM! WE NEED THAT!
Phoebe here to say “bring us your newspapers”. It’s not often we need them, but we are getting pretty low, and with everything going to online/digital, papers are harder to come by. Feel free to drop them off to us during business hours!
Thanks 🥰

Buckshot Swims with Stemcells!
Who says that senior pups can’t have fun!? 🐶
Buckshot is a 14 year old Labrador with severe hip and spinal arthritis, making it difficult for him to walk correctly or to even get up.
Buckshot was treated with Stem cells at Morehead Animal Hospital in February 2021
Here is a message from his owner just this weekend:
Hey Dr. Bird! I hope you’re doing well. I just wanted to let you know that Buckshot has been improving so much! He has been getting up faster, swimming and climbing up the stairs faster. He’s acting more like his old self. The stem cells really changed his life for the better I think. Thank you so much for everything!

Our staff was so honored to be invited to the celebration of life ceremony held this past weekend at Lynaire Kennels at their new memorial garden. The kennel and owners, Linda and James Jarvis, have been part of our Morehead Animal Hospital family for many years and Dr. Bird was very honored to be asked to speak at the event.

Dear Labby,
I was happily greeting some visitors at our house the other day when I overheard my human saying I was "microchipped". What the heck! What does that mean? I am not at all pleased to be "micro" anything, much less something chipped. ☹️ #whydidtInotknow?
Sincerely,
Clueless in Carteret
Dear Clueless,
You will be pleased to know that in this case, "micro" is definitely a good thing! Microchips are rice-sized implants that identify you when a scanner is passed over you. You sure don't want a "macro"chip, lol! They are small enough that they can be injected under the skin like a vaccine. Below is a video of my buddy Alley getting her microchip and you can see how quick and easy it is.
With the hurricane potential in our area, all pets should be microchipped so we can get home to our family if we get lost!
