The Viking Ambassadors (Rowan High) held a Fundraiser for STAR (Saving the Animals of Rowan). Students could enter a raffle to "pie" a Math Teacher of their choosing, and the Lucky winners were Mackenzie Boggs, Adrian Hamm, and Jay Perry. The (un)lucky recipients were Mr. Redwine, Mr. Bradley, and Mr. Short (not pictured).
The Viking Ambassadors are a student leadership program dedicated to connecting our school to the community through outreach, service, and opportunities. This group decided to serve the community by raising money for an organization they care about.
***S.T.A.R greatly appreciates your hard work and dedication. We save 1200-1500 homeless dogs a year. The much needed money will go towards vetting and supplies.
We would like to wish EVERYONE who participated a safe and wonderful school year! Special thanks to Craig Pearcy for your leadership role.

STAR Saving the Animals of Rowan
Silent Mission
It's cold, it's wet a pouring rain persists at 3:30am, I mumbled something and continued to drive in the darkness. Little did I know I was about to witness a miracle. My headlights swung in the darkness, cutting a path to an eager group of volunteers loading crates of hope in their transport van. Nineteen rescue dogs, leaving for a life of love, washing away the physical and emotional scars they endured. The ladies toiled in silence; each volunteer was immensely aware of the mission. I stood in awe as I was introduced to the STAR volunteers. Their mission is of LOVE and HOPE, Hope is boundless, but funds are short.
STAR survives on donations and volunteer service. The holidays are a wonderful time to support STAR's mission, the results of STAR's mission have resulted in hundreds of dogs receiving new lives of love this year. Your donation to STAR directly impacts the dogs we save. WE need your help now; the need is great. Your donation of $5, $10, $15, $20, $50 or more will help our mission, it allows us to heat the building where the dogs are kenneled, provide medical treatments to the dogs in need, allows us to maintain our transport van, and so much more.
