Lanciano by Larissa (Larome)
Good bye is a hard thing to say. It can be even harder when the decision must be made on when the right time is to say it. It never feels like the right time and we always seem to want more time if we can get it.
Yesterday we had to say good bye to one of our foundation mares and cornerstone of the farm Luna. Luna was a fantastic mom with a larger then life personality. She was a Verband States Premium mare which is the highest placing she can reach and originally was bred in Germany then imported to the United States while pregnant with her first baby. One of the judges commented on her during her daughters foal inspection and stated that the only thing wrong with her was that she was no longer in Germany.
She passed on her beauty and amazing technique to her offspring. She was also sure to pass on her love and self confidence to her children. From the covergirl of the GOV Oldenburg magazine when Ashanti stopped to smell the floors to multiple championships in the ring, her children show her fantastic type and mothering. Of course they each show their individuality and huge personalities to match their skills and movement.
Luna got reunited with her long time best friend, W***y, who was imported along side her. The first time they were united they stood on opposite sides of the fence from each other for several hours and didn’t want to move.

Luna loved everyone she met and particularly loved her butt scratched and her daily grain. We miss you Luna. We know that Smudge and Ebby are waiting for you and cannot wait to run by your side. We love you so much and always will. You are truly one of a kind and we know you will live forever in your kids the impact you made into this world. We love you Luna 🦄❤️

We are so proud of Semper Fidelis (“Sammy”) and all the hard work he has been doing with Rosy Dahlstrom. He is learning to focus and connect as well as listen better to his rider and not so much his environment. We are so thankful to Rosy for all her hard work. He is turning into a wonderful dressage horse and we cannot wait until he is ready for his next partner. Sammy will be offered for sale soon!

Sammy gets to go for some training for a while! We are all thinking about it like him going away to to college. He is a big boy at 17.3 and learning how to maintain his training in new locations and with new people. Thank you Rosy Dahlstrom and Pacific View Sport horses for allowing Sammy his opportunity!

“Libby”
1989-2022
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of a matriarch for our farm. Yesterday we had to goodbye to Libby at the ripe old age of 33 years old. We are thankful that in the past few months she had made a best friend with Maggie and they got to enjoy the sun leaning on each other. She was always excited to see everyone and always loved cookies no matter what. We will miss her nicker and that special twinkle in her eyes. Thank you to everyone who loves Libby and made her last few years so special.
We will miss you Libby. I hope Dede and Lia and there waiting for you. We love you so much and always will 🦄❤️

Epic “Ebby”
2008-2022
We are heartbroken to have to announce that we had to say goodbye to Ebby. It was sudden and completely unexpected in every way. He coliced in the middle of the night and, although he was rushed to UC Davis (the closest facility to the barn he was staying with) and surgery started almost instantly, they could not save him due to the extent of damage.
There are not words to express how much he will be missed and how loved he is by everyone who encountered him. He knew how to make everyone laugh with his antics and constant curios mind. He loves his job and was amazing at it. He was a true champion of both rings and hearts. He was laid back and yet loved to play. Several times he was found wandering the barn after letting out several of his friends even when his door was secured with several clips. We are thankful for the time we got to spend with him. He was needed for a higher purpose and we will he missed here.
Thank you to the amazing team at UC Davis and everyone else who did everything they could to try to help him. Thank you to Emma, Jennifer, Charlie, Lani, Hope, and Corrie for loving him and letting him get to show his stuff which he loved to do. Thank you to our barn family for all the amazing memories and always doing whatever they could to help him have fun.

You are missed but never forgotten. We love you Ebby 🦄 ❤️

Beautiful Bindi (Balou du Rouet/Whytell) is excited to go out for her ride today. Sweet and kind as every, she is carbon copy of her mother. She is content to just stand in the crossties with all the patience in the world. Such a good girl and only turning 7 this year.
