We didn’t end up with a yard full of beautiful goat kids without some significant input from this guy. PXPF Sven sired all of this year’s kids and we are ecstatic to see how they grow out. We are particularly excited about the dark red kid he had out of PXPF Gigi. Hoping she got Sven’s dam’s lasting red locks 🤞🏻
Phew! Kidding flew by this year! I don’t think we have ever had all our goats kid so close together. We went from 0 to 14 in under two weeks, and now we get to enjoy all the baby shenanigans 💜 Final counts are:

I need to grab some new photos of the proud daddy for all of this year’s kids - our gorgeous fading red Colored Angora buck PXPF Sven. He gave us flashy splashy cross kids, white fluffs, two reds, a taupe, and a black! And so many doe kids 🤩🤩🤩
Busy Monday here at the farm! We started the day with our last Nigora baby - a big single buck kid for first time mom Waverly. She had him so clean and dry when I found her, I thought she was just being suspiciously nice to one of our other babies at first🤨😂
I gave my best pep talks every time I made baby rounds, but apparently only Gigi was paying attention. The family took bets on how many new babies we would find coming home from gymnastics. Clearly I know my goats best, cause my 2 baby bet was the winner! Gigi got the memo and gave us two gorgeous doe kids - one is the darkest red we’ve had on the farm in awhile… Can’t wait to see them grow up and grow out those beautiful locks!!
Well, with the rain delaying the end of Shearing Season, the goats have decided to skip ahead to Kidding Season! Last Friday our sweet Nigerian Stella had quadruplet Nigora babies 😳🥰 Unfortunately the tiniest one did not make it, but her two buck kids and single doe kid are bouncing around having a blast. Their daddy is our gorgeous CAGBA registered buck Sven.
The Nigoras continued their lead when our 50/50 first freshener Whisper had two gorgeous doe kids this morning! Of course she had them standing out in the drizzling rain, because why would any respectable goat have her babies in the dry stall by the heat lamps?!?
A whole week of lovely weather and I bet we have four does kid this rainy weekend 🤦🏼♀️. Whisper is doing alright with her babies, but throws a feral goat fit every time I come around to check on her. Acting like she wasn’t born here and spent half her time trying to eat the clothes right off my body 😑🙄 Hopefully she will settle down once the surprise of new motherhood sinks in.
One of these days we will have full Angora babies, but these flashy Nigora kids are keeping us busy for now 🥰💜
Next up was Winnie’s mom, ROCK Hildie. Two years older, but just as soft and fine a fleece as her daughter! She is similarly fond of cookies, so she was happy to stand for her makeover as long as the snacks kept coming 😂🥰
Spring shearing has begun! Winnie here has the softest cream-colored locks and she was such a good girl on the stand! She is due for her first kid(s) next month!

It’s that time of year again!! Come visit Hildie and Rabbit at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo! You can find them in the newly renovated FFA Children’s Barnyard area. They love visitors and wouldn’t be mad if you smuggled them an animal cracker 😂💜
Oldest lady (STAG Nuna at 14 years) and newest babies (just over a month old) have been enjoying this weather and all the good green stuff growing! 🌷🌼☘️
What a week!
Starting with last weekend when we made some great new goat friends who are excited to be adding three Nigoras to their family this summer. Thank you so much for the gorgeous plaque for our farm!

More Nigora babies! This time we caught momma, Stella, in labor and helped her welcome her baby boys. She was not sure they were actually hers at first, but she’s coming around 🥰 Meet Roten, Rocket, and Rufus!
Well I was expecting these kids, but not until next week 😅 Of course Rosie decided to have them out in the open while everyone was gone at work or activities! But she’s a good momma and we came home to find 3 dry doe kids (I think - they are black and it is dark 😂)
Some of you might know that we raise rabbits alongside our goats. Well, this morning there was a massive breakout of kits, and we only recovered 5/7. Went out to check before dark and found the goats quite confused about this little guy camping out under their feeder.
He was not too pleased to be recaptured, as you can hear 😂 Never fear - he is reunited with his mama and siblings. Please excuse the heavy breathing; this guy had me moving quick to snag him 😂🥰
Hildie says come see her and her sweet baby at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo! They are repping the Angoras in the Children’s Barnyard. Winnie says bring cookies 🍪 😂
Sterling was the best boy heading to his new home yesterday! Actually, he liked the air conditioned ride and special snacks so much, we had trouble getting him out of the car 🤦🏼♀️😂

Well, between PXPF Minty kidding boy/girl twins for us Wednesday, and TSRT Gigi giving us the same today, we end our 2022 breeding season with 7 Angora doe kids, 2 Angora buck kids, 3 Nigerian doe kids, 1 Nigora buck kid, and 1 Nigora doe kid! What a great year 🥰
Gigi’s kids aren’t named yet, but we are happy to introduce PXPF Wriggly (dark red, blue-eyed buck, PXPF Minty x PRF Gideon) and PXPF Waffles (light red doe, PXPF Minty x PRF Gideon).
With all of the fire and storm danger lately, we’ve gotten behind on kidding announcements!
PXPF Maisy gave us the adorable dark red and white kids snuggled up with our Nigerian kids in the one picture. PXPF Wrenly is the red - she is dark and huge! PXPF Winter is the white color carrier - she has her momma’s ice blue eyes 😍
Unfortunately on the same day Maisy had her twins, her mother, KAIR Mukami, had to have a stillborn kid pulled. We hate it when this sort of thing happens, but we are happy to report that Mukami has recovered nicely and is helping raise her adorable grandbabies.
Just this past Tuesday, we caught PXPF Moxie in labor when we were out feeding. She dropped two doe kids! Please welcome PXPF Wilamina (the lighter kid yelling at the camera 😂) and PXPF Windy (medium red with two white socks).
Keeping an eye on our last two pregnant does - TSRT Gigi and PXPF Minty. Maybe we will finally get another buck kid 😂

I usually shear all my expecting does well before they are expected to kid, but as a homeschooling mom of 2 small kids with new farm projects in the works (stay tuned!), this year’s shearing is a little hectic 🥴
I’ve been getting does done in ones and twos and the schedule has been dependent on whose udder and ligaments look the most urgent 😂 Clearly Hildie snuck through my checks!
PXPF Winnifred waited patiently on a haybale while her momma got trimmed up, and didn’t even fuss about the complete change in appearance. Milk still there? We’re good 👍🏻 😂
