Union County Animal Control - Kentucky Union County Animal Control: 908 Sandy Lane, Morganfield, KY 42437 (270)389-3000 Mon-Fri 8:00 -4:00 The phone number is 270)389-3000 or (270)748-7236.

The Union County Animal Control is located at 908 Sandy Lane, Morganfield, KY 42437. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00 am -4:00 pm. The county shelter only impounds dogs. Due to the number of animals received, the shelter is unable to keep them forever, so their time is limited. Strays brought into the shelter are held for 5 days before being available to the public for adoption or rescue.

This allows time for owners to be reunited with their pets. We recommend TAGGING and/or MICROCHIPPING your pets. We do scan for microchips and check for tags at our facility. The public is encouraged to visit during normal business hours if interested in adopting a dog from the pound. More information on adoption is available at the facility. We strive to maintain good working relationships with area rescues in order to give each dog the best chance for a better life. We highly recommend all pet owners spay and neuter their dogs. The Union County Animal Control will require all adopted dogs to be spayed or neutered.

As we ring in the New Year 🎉, we would still like to celebrate some of 2024!

With a total of 439 animals moved through the shelter! 49 Adoptions, 84 returned home, & 273 moved onto better days at a rescue🥳🥳 Of those Warrick Humane Society took almost half of our animals!🤩
Not only were great things happening with the animals here but also with our community.
We donated 8,975.21 lbs of packaged dry dog and cat food to Fathers Free Store, St. Vincent Depaul, and Senior Citizen Center thanks to the help of businesses such as Walmart and Tractor Supply Co., donations, and grants!!!
At the annual Rabies Clinic held at the shelter 147 animals received a rabies vaccination.
The Spay/Neuter Voucher Program was put to fantastic use with over 50 dogs able to get altered!! Wow! This program helps to reduce the number of animals that end up in a shelter, thank you for utilizing this tool to help our county!

We would like to thank every rescue partner, community member, Union County Fiscal Court, our local vet offices, and UC Cause for Paws! 🤗Without everyone coming together these things would be simply impossible for us, so truly thank you all and well wishes to everyone as we welcome 2025!! 🥳🥳
