Wally....how do I begin to tell you about Wally ?? It has been a rough few days.
We lost precious Wally Sunday, Feb 9. He was 17 years old.
It seems like yesterday when we rescued Wally and his brother Lenny in 2012. They were estimated to be 4 years old and were very bonded. Their rescue started a journey for my family.
Years ago, they were in a foster to adopt home, for a very brief moment. The two brothers broke out of the fenced yard twice to chase my vehicle. They let me know they had already picked their home so the second time I said ok...let's go home boys.
Wally was a talker. Not a barker...a real talker. He had his own doggie language. Wally would even talk in his sleep sometimes. We are going to miss hearing that. Wally was humble, loved everyone, soulful ....loved to lay in the sun, and especially loved his treats. Wally was tough. Took everything that came his way in stride and with a gentle strength and spirit. He fought hard to stay with us and we fought hard by his side. We sadly lost Lenny, his brother, last year. He was 16 years old. Lenny was very dependent on his brother. Wally reassured Lenny and gave him confidence. Even though they were the same age, Wally always seemed like the older brother.
Wally was one of a kind and a piece of our heart went with him, and Lenny. I am quite sure his brother Lenny was the first to greet him at the Bridge.
We love & miss you Wally. You are in our hearts always. Till we meet again Wally Boy....
