Do you know what makes a trail-maker happy? Beautiful weather to make trails. of Legacy Trails was hitting the trails early today with a big smile on his face. This is day one of him getting it done. I will take some more photos as he progresses. Our hiking trails are on their way to really existing.

Looking for a place to go on retreat? Look no more. This our personal hot tub to help our backs recover from beeing 🐝 beekeepers, but we are adding a wood burning hot tub and sauna to our retreat space. If you stay in one of our GeoDomes you have access to both. If you camp you have access to the sauna. How about that for a glamping experience. Well Doc’s went to DC. We were there for Noah’s Graduation but we made time to see the Capitol, and were fortunate enough to have a meeting with Senator Ossoff’s aides, and our Representative Andrew Clyde. Seeking support for Doc’s Healing Hives program and lodging. Hopefully we will get it. Thankful for the time we were given by both offices.

It’s beginning to look like Christmas! Best gift 🎁 I could have is healthy hives. Took these pictures today and there is a whole bunch of new bees. How could that bee? The other best gift 🎁 is I am 15 days away from being RETIRED and RELEASED from the USAR 🇺🇸. If just had tickets 🎫 for the Army Navy game.

Made a few honey deliveries today. 1st stop was Out of the Blue where you can pick up 4oz bottles of Botanical, Bourbon, or Sweet Hot Honey and wonderful wines. My current favorite is One Stone a delightful Cab from Paso Robles.
2nd stop was Misty Mountain Hops is playing around with our Botanical and Bourbon Honeys in some delightful cocktails. I got to try one with some delicious White Chili. Made my lunch a top shelf experience. Stop by and pick some honey, wine, chili and cocktail. The combination will make your day wonderful.

We had the honor of hosting Mountain Beekeepers Association meeting last night at the learning center. It was exciting to see several Doc’s participants at the meeting talking about everything from how to keep ants 🐜 out of your hive to what to feed your bees in the winter. Also excited to talk about Doc’s mission to help vets heal and our lodging that will be here mid January. Help us help others heal and help us grow from a Learning Center to a full retreat. You never know who your honeybees will connect you with. This is Matt Wiley who I started following back in 2018 and asked once then twice if he would consider painting a mural at Doc’s Healing Hives in our learning center. Well today he was here and we started nugging away at the details of him painting a mural in the space you see inside our learning center. If you aren’t familiar with his work you should check it out. He has painted over 50,000 honeybees all around the world. We our blessed he is excited to add a mural in our tiny place. Bee on the lookout for more buzz about this project. One more step in creating a beautiful place for everyone to heal.

This past Veteran’s Day we celebrated with close friends a ribbon cutting that doubled the size of the learning center. Two days prior to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony I attended the International Dark Skies Association International Conference. Even more exciting last night I used my International Sky Quality Meter and confirmed that Doc’s Healing Hives Learning Center and Apiary qualifies as a Dark Sky Location. I used my SQM and we measured 22mags/arcsec2 . Simple terms we are a great place to come view the stars. Next week I will be applying to certify the property as a location that can provide Dark Sky Lodging. Is this a big deal - Heck to the yea! There are only 5 certified locations in the entire U.S.A.
