Good Morning Kennel Family!
Just some updates on 2024 Reservations. We are finalizing the Holiday reservation periods and confirming for both Thanksgiving and Christmas time frames. Requests can be made for both periods to see if we can get you taken care of. Give us a text @ 3049067620 or email today to get secured and confirmed. Thanks!! 2025 calendar is open as well now with numerous bookings already. Also keep the updated vaccinations coming in via email. We appreciate you staying on top of all of that with your individual vets to avoid any delays during drop offs periods. (Rabies, Bordatella for Kennel Cough within 6 months and the DHL/DaPP2V)

*We have added many wonderful New customers to the Kennel family recently with Hillcrest Veterinary Clinic ceasing boarding operations in September. They have always been a great supporter of us and appreciate them sending folks our way. So if you know of a Family that would need a Great place to call home. Have them come by or give us a call. Our Emergency Vet for Mountain Laurel Kennels is Cheat Lake Animal Hospital who is a another Premier Facility with the resources to handle any situation after hours should it arise. We also work and refer to other awesome facilities like Paw Prints Veterinary Clinic LLC and Animal Medical Center of Morgantown and Hillcrest Veterinary Clinic just to name a few! We understand the importance of working with your local vets no matter where they are and helping out Kennel Families obtain the best available care in their area.

Our shelter is in crisis. We need your help.

There were no dog adoptions yesterday, and lost and homeless dogs continue to pour in. We now have 25 more dogs than kennels.

Adoption fees are waived this week for all dogs. NOW is the time to adopt!

Many have asked to post if any dates come open, so below are a couple that may work for you if you're looking for a short weekday getaway or something like that. If these work for you just let me know. I have a couple openings that I have worked that do not fit our Wait List clients.

As always its NEVER TOO EARLY to get on the books. Just shoot me any dates you require and I will try and work them if possible. Im usually 6 months out and have the calendar a year out in advance but with 2 Full Kennels there are openings that do arise from time to time due to vacations shifts, Illness, etc.

*Edit to Add: The female cat appointments booked very quickly! We did open some more, but you will need to choose "Spay Cat 2" for the staff section. Thank you all! We are excited to see so many kitties getting appointments!

Additional days of pain medication are included at no additional cost.

To request an appointment please go to snipwv.org and click "Make an Appointment" in the menu. Under "Visit Type" please select Neuter if you are scheduling a male cat, and Spay if you are scheduling a female cat. You will be able to choose an appointment time, but you will have the 7:30AM to 8:15AM window to drop your cat off! You MUST select 6/19/24 as the appointment date to participate in this special, if there are no appointments listed for that day, they have all been filled.

You may have noticed our scheduler looks a little different! An update was completed and the problems we were seeing before such as not being able to add additional animals should be resolved! Please send us a message if you have any problems so that we can report them.

This special is made possible by a grant, due to restrictions with this funding you must be a WV resident to participate in this pricing. Unfortunately we also are not able to apply this special to our volume clients on these dates (501c3's, shelters, voucher programs).

MAY 18th ONLY

ALL adoption fees will be covered for dogs and cats at the Humane Society of Harrison County and Harrison County Animal Control, thanks to Best Friends Animal Society! We’ve received many requests to offer reduced fees so now is your chance.

If you would like to get a head start you can fill out your application on the Humane Society’s website (hshcwv.org), we very much encourage this to help alleviate traffic in the buildings. Please read the fine print of the application for reasons you could potentially be denied from adopting.

You do not need to be a Harrison County resident to adopt, the Humane Society deals with out-of-state adoptions regularly.

Please note, we cannot guarantee that a dog at Animal Control will still be adoptable on May 18th. If you are interested in a dog at animal control on the application where it asks who you are interested in please put the dogs name and Animal Control
(ex. Jax - AC).

Don’t forget that during the vaccine/microchipping clinic, there will be food trucks, vendors selling pet products, and a section for nail trims! The vendors however will NOT be free, we support shopping local!

This event is meant to be uplifting and helpful please do your part, making sure you are kind and you leash your dog(s) and contain your cat(s) appropriately.
