It's Wednesday and it's the last car and bike show for Roselawn American Legion post 238. We will be there 5 pm to 7 pm with Sonny. Sonny is a 3 year old boxer mix. He's on the larger side. He's neutered already. He is potty trained. Gets along with other dogs and gave kisses to the friendly cat. Come on out and meet him.

The 2 older cats were dropped off at a house in Morocco. Both are wearing flea collars.
The black and white kitten came from Thayer.

Well today's recipient of "Time away from the shelter" was Duke. We were suppose to go to a car show. However with the high temps we opted for indoor fun. Duke met so many people and had a blast at Farm & Fleet, Lowes, Pet Smart and Michaels'. But he did not find a family to call his own. Everyone commented on what a sweet boy is was.

Stray from Brook. He is a boxer mix. Chipped but not to current owner. Super sweet! If yours or know where he belongs call 219-285-2187 changed photo to a better one.

3 am this morning there was a Great Pyr on the SW corner of 400 E & Rt 10. It was gone when I came to work at 7 am. We contacted the 2 families that we know have GPs. It was neither of theirs.

Exactly we are FULL !! We have to turn away animals. We have nowhere to put them. Although we are not a kill shelter. It's heart breaking everywhere!! The last couple of weeks have hit me hard, as I look at 1 dog that has been here over 1 year. We have 2 male pitties that are fully vetted. 1 is under 1 year and the other is just over 1 year. Both great dogs.
We have several that need some time to warm up. We have 2 cats fully vetted, shy and have been here almost 6 months.
Adoptions are almost non existent.
As I leave each night, I feel GUILTY that I have not done enough for them.

How are these dogs still here?
Duke is such a sweetheart. He is fine with female dogs & non dominant males. He is fine around cats. After he gets his zoomies done, he just wants to be with his people. He loves getting brushed❤ Duke is 2-3 years old. He is a lab mix.

Tina has been here for over 1 year. She was adopted and returned. :( She takes time to warm up to new people. Once she trusts you, prepare to be kissed if you like it or not. Tina does not like cats. She is 5 years old.

Sonny is a sweetheart. He came in as a chipped stray. However no one updated his owners information. He is a rather large boxer mix. He is neutered but needs his current vaccines. He is 3 years old.

Piper is a sweetheart. If you live in Morocco, you may know her. She had not been vetted yet. However she can be foster to adopt. That simply means, you take her to her vet appointment. We pay for her spay and vaccines. After that the adoption is final.
