3… 2… 1… ROOSTER!

Tomorrow is just the beginning pheasant seasons across our state with the junior pheasant hunt. The junior pheasant hunt opens Saturday, October 11 and runs through Saturday, October 18, including Sunday, October 12.

This season is ONLY open to junior hunters under age 17 and all mentored hunters with a valid mentored hunter permit. ALL hunters MUST also obtain a pheasant hunting permit. These permits are free to hunters under 17 and $26.97 for mentored hunters over 17.

Special pheasant stocking opportunities have taken place ahead of the junior season across our region. You can find additional details on locations at http://bit.ly/472Ns2i.

There have been some changes to the stocking plan in our region including:
Snyder County – Middle Road on State Game Lands 188 (Beavertown) will not be stocked due to safety zone concerns. Instead, stocking and hunting opportunities will be expanded on Creek Road, Bailey Hill Road, Gamelands Road, and Pine Swamp Road.

Good luck, have fun, hunt safely!

Happy day today.
