Join Our Team — Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist/ Registered Veterinary Technician

Are you passionate about animals and providing excellent customer care? Crocker Veterinary Care is looking to add a dedicated, compassionate Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist/ Registered Veterinary Technician to our growing team.

This is a cross-trained role, offering the opportunity to work both at the front desk and hands-on with patients. We are a mixed-animal practice, so you’ll gain valuable experience working with both small and large animals.

What We’re Looking For:

•Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
•Previous animal handling or veterinary experience is a plus, but not required — we’re happy to train the right person.
•A team player who is dependable, eager to learn, and willing to grow with our clinic.

Schedule & On-Call Rotation:

Full-time position: approximately 4.5 days per week. (40 hours per week)
Business hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM (with a 1-hour lunch).
Rotating on-call schedule: typically once every 4 weeks.
On-call hours: Monday–Friday 5:30–9 PM, Saturday 9 AM–9 PM, Sunday 1–6 PM.
On-call weekends coincide with kennel care weekends.
Calls are typically minimal (1–2 per week), and you are compensated per call.

Benefits:
•Competitive hourly pay, with higher rates for applicants with veterinary experience.
•Frequent opportunities for raises based on trainability and performance.
•Employee discounts on services.
•Vacation and PTO.
•Supportive and collaborative team environment.

If you’re ready to be part of a team that values hard work, compassion, and growth, we’d love to meet you!

🎃Happy Halloween from the two clinic cats Finch and Boo! Here are some inportant things to keep in my for your furry friends tonight! 👻

🎃 Halloween Pet Safety Tips 🐾
1. Keep Candy Out of Reach
• Chocolate, xylitol (in sugar-free candy), and wrappers can be toxic to pets.
• Store candy in high, closed cabinets and remind kids not to share treats with animals.

2. Costumes: Comfort Over Cute
• Only dress pets up if they’re comfortable.
• Make sure costumes are not tight, don’t restrict movement/breathing, and have no small parts they could chew off.
• Let pets try costumes ahead of time to check for stress or irritation.

3. Create a Safe, Quiet Space
• Doorbells, strangers in costumes, and noise can cause anxiety.
• Set up a quiet room with their bed, water, and calming toys where they can relax.

4. Prevent Escape During Trick-or-Treating
• With doors opening frequently, pets can slip out easily.
• Use baby gates or keep pets in a closed room during peak trick-or-treat hours.
• Ensure collars, tags, and microchip info are up to date—just in case.

5. Halloween Decorations Safety
• Keep pets away from candles in pumpkins, electrical cords, fake cobwebs, and glow sticks.
• Curious pets can get burned, tangled, or ingest harmful materials.

6. Watch for Signs of Stress
• Panting, pacing, hiding, whining, or shaking may indicate your pet is scared.
• Offer calming treats, pheromone diffusers, or soothing interaction if safe.
