The Morris Area FFA chapter competed in several regional CDE contests the past few weeks:

🥇The Livestock Evaluation team consisting of Jaxon Hilbrands, Allie Staples, Bethany Backman and Britney Woodke placed 1st as a team with Jaxon placing 3rd and Britney placing 4th individually! This team is coached by Mrs. Borash

🥇 The Meats Evaluation Team consisting of Emerson Reuter, Reid Wulf, Kendall Waldbeser and Max Rohloff placed 1st as a team with Emerson placing 1st and Reid placing 9th individually! Drew Koehl and Chad Wulf competed also! This team is coached by Mrs. Socha.

🥈The Farm Business Management Team consisting of Angela Albrecht, Brenton Schmidgall, Lance Koehl, Mason Koehl and Nolan Wulf placed 2nd as a team with Angela placing 3rd, Brenton placing 5th, Lance placing 6th and Mason placing 7th individually. Thank you Deron Erickson for coaching this team!

The Ag Mechanics Team consisting of Logan Miller, Joseph Lonergan, Tate Olson, Aaron Staples and Will Zeltwanger placed 5th as a team. Thank you Mark Staples and Mike Lonergan for coaching this team!

All 4 teams will advance to compete at State FFA Convention in April! Congratulations!

Today we had 9 students attend Skills Fest at Ridgewater College. Students competed in the Ag Mechanics, Welding and Veterinary Science contests.

Congratulations to Josh Price placed who placed 1st individually and Jacey Lonergan who placed 2nd individually in Vet Science!

We had so much fun at DonkeyBall on Thursday night! We were excited to win the championship game this year! 🏆

Thank you to all the people that helped us put this event on and to all the student riders and helpers that participated! 🫏

Most of all thank you to everyone who attended the event which will help support local families in our school district!

We had 7 Morris Area FFA members travel to Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention. They toured Notre Dame along the way and while at the convention they attended sessions, leadership workshops, the career expo, the rodeo and the Megan Moroney concert!

On the last day of convention MAHS alum, Justus Moser received his American Degree- the highest degree attained in the FFA! ⭐️

We missed posting for National Farmers Day, but still wanted to say THANK YOU to all of the producers and farm families that provide food, fiber and fuel to keep our world going! 🌎

🌽 Thank you also to our community members who donated grain or monetarily to our Corn Drive yesterday! We appreciate your ongoing support of our program! 🌽

On Thursday our Junior & Senior Officers teamed up with Hancock’s Officer team for an awesome Teamwork Motivation Training with Rick Rassier!

These student leaders had a fun and engaging morning spent doing challenging team-building activities and having meaningful discussions about important leadership topics. Topics included perseverance, goal-setting, communication, dedication, and celebrating progress amongst many others!

We truly enjoyed your messages and team building activities, Rick! Thanks for sharing your day with us and helping our officer teams “Take It To The Next Level”!

On May 7th our chapter had 18 students help with the annual Urban Ag Day event hosted at the MN State Fairgrounds. On our day of the 3 day event our members taught over 400 3rd graders from various schools in the twin cities about agriculture! They taught them about livestock, crops, farm machinery and other aspects of agriculture!
