JOIE -- ADOPTED -- DOB 2018
JOIE -- ADOPTED -- DOB 2018
Joie is a mini filly that came to Beauty’s Haven in June of 2018. She was part of a feral herd of minis that had previously been living on 300 acres. Joie needed to be desensitized to touch and learn to trust humans, but since being at Beauty's Haven she has come to love being scratched and petted, brushed and groomed, and does a really good job standing for the farrier. And as you can see in the video, Joie is doing great walking on the lead line! She has been adopted out with her BFF, Rosie.

KIANA -- ADOPTED
Paint mare -- DOB 2014
Kiana came to us in the spring of 2014 as a 2-week old orphan, but she isn't a baby anymore! Kiana is now a beautiful mare looking for a FOREVER home.
Kiana started groundwork training sessions at Beauty's Haven with Dan Rexroad in early 2018 and made great progress. In August of 2018 a supporter made it possible for Kiana to continue her groundwork training and begin under-saddle training with Amanda Hill at Legacy Hill in Citra, FL. Kiana was transported there Aug. 13 and will be there 60 days. We have visited Kiana while she has been in training and have videos available of her progress there.
After less than 30 days of working with her, Amanda provided us with this assessment: "While I would still say Kiana needs a confident rider, there are no vices to worry about under saddle. She has a very minimal spook, if any. If something new catches her eye, she will peek at it or take a step or two away. It is very easy to correct the next time around. She has an extremely smooth trot and steering at the trot has almost been perfect lately. She is understanding the concept of seat and leg. Trot to caner transitions are improving every ride. She has great brakes. Just sit and ask her to whoa and she comes right down. She is so willing to learn new things."
It would be ideal to have an adopter approved for Kiana while she is still in training so that the potential adopter can work with Amanda and Kiana both. Amanda has also generously offered to work with any potential adopter if they desire continued training for Kiana. This is truly a great opportunity for someone. Kiana is a beautiful, kind mare that should have a wonderful future ahead of her.
